Donald Trump Lashes Out at Jerry Seinfeld Over Charity Event

All is not well between
Donald Trump and J
erry Seinfeld. The comedian reportedly pulled out from an event appearance and Trump called him out in an open letter.
According to
Page Six, Seinfeld was scheduled to attend a Sept. 13 event for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Eric Trump Foundation. However, he has since canceled his appearance due to Trump's negative remarks about President Obama.
"I just learned you canceled a show for my son's charity," Trump wrote to Seinfeld, "because of the fact that I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader."
Trump, who is considering a 2012 presidential run, didn't stop reprimanding the comedian there.
"We don't care that you broke your commitment," he continued, "even though the children of St. Jude are very disappointed, and despite the fact that your manager clearly stated you are 'truly a man of his word.'"
Adding insult to injury, Trump took a shot at Seinfeld's NBC show, 'The Marriage Ref,' which Trump appeared on last year.
"What I do feel badly about is that I agreed to do, and did, your failed show, 'The Marriage Ref,' even though I thought it was absolutely terrible," Trump wrote. "Despite its poor ratings, I didn't cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did."
A rep for Seinfeld said he agreed to appear at the event before Trump began
questioning the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate. However, "Jerry has grown increasingly uncomfortable" with the 'Apprentice' head honcho.
"Jerry ... feels this kind of demagoguery has no place in public discourse," said the rep. "He has respectfully withdrawn from the event, and is making a contribution both to the Eric Trump Foundation and to [St. Jude]."
Former 'Apprentice' contestant
Bret Micheals is slated to fill Seinfeld's place, and the rocker released a statement to
Hollywood Life.
"Donald Trump and his family have been wonderful to me and St. Jude's Children's Hospital is one of my favorite charities, so I'm honored to have been asked by Eric and the rest of the Trump family to be a part of this event and help raise money for such an admirable cause," he said, adding a slight dig at Seinfeld. "We should never allow the spirit of generosity to be overshadowed by divisive political beliefs -- and when it comes to saving the life of a child, there is absolutely no room for political rhetoric."

Why does any of that rant matter to what's going on now? Trump didn't set this up. He didn't sit back weeks ago and say "oh how am I going to rope Jerry Seinfeld into not appearing on my sons charity event" Seinfeld is being a baby (and by the way, I LOVED seinfeld and curb your enthusiasm), typical liberal baby. And like I said, I agree that the whole birther thing is stupid. All Jerry had to do was appear. I'm pretty sure he was there when Paul Mccartney made rude statements about GWB in the White House. Didn't hear much outcry. It's hypocritical, and you can't handl that

"Funny" Seinfeld never had a problem with the Left Wing birthers ranting that John McCain shouldn't run for president because he was born on an American Military base instead of in the continental U.S. I guess Seinfeld only has problems with Dems being attacked. No one has seen the original and it's right to ask. Candidate Obama was on the George Stephanopoulos Sunday show and said, "I respect Sen. McCain's religion and I hope he respects my Muslim Faith." Stephanopoulos then interrepted and said, "you mean your Christian faith." Candidate Obama said, "Yes, that's what I mean." Talk about feeding him an answer! Sorry Jerry. I used to be a fan. Maybe President Obama can redistribute your wealth at laughing at others. I hope he does, so I can laugh AT you this time, not with you.

Trump is a dump. A lying, no morals, theif who should go away. I can't believe the public watches this jerk. I hope Rosie O'Donnell gets the last laugh.

Jerry seems to be putting his foot in his mouth lately. Didn't he just run his mouth about the Prince's wedding last week calling it a big circus, and phoney. Now some VERY ILL children need to suffer cause of something he has NO CONTROL over! So what that Donald and Obama have issues, SUCK IT UP Jerry, it's NOT ABOUT the GROWN-UPS dude.

two thumbs up to Brett Michaels and Donald Trump. Jerry Seinfeld is an idiot and should not put politics into a charity event.
This just goes to remind me how much I don't like Jerry S. He is a no talent idiot. His word, my azz.

I think its disrespectful to bad mouth the President of the United States. If your a citizen here, try appreciating what this country has and offers. It is a bad example for children. Trump insulted in a childish manner, instead of a 'issues' concern. I wouldn't vote Trump to be a dog catcher.

Sara get a grip, they bad mouth every President, even Bush for 8 straight years. Time to move on.
Good for Jerry, Trump is a very disturbed person. I do hope that Trump is the GOP candidate, just to see Obama say "YOUR FIRED". As Mr Cosby said, Trump is so full of himself.

I wonder if Jerry researches all the charities that he gives to? Someone somewhere in the past may have said something about his favorite political party. (And he may have contributed)

Bravo Donald, Seinfield just went on my not a fan list. Politics has nothing to do with kids. Awful Jerry. Go Donald Run, Run, Run, one thing for Donald, he speaks the truth.

I can tell Jerry head is swollen, when he thinks he can speak out like Tom Cruise without consequences. Your not E.F. Hutton Jerry this was for charity. Bad move!

Brett Michaels got it right. The rest is just animosity towards each others political views.

What's the matter, Donald? Can't your son stand up for himself? Or is this just another opportunity for you to open your big pie-hole and get attention?
The reason you appeared on Jerry's show is because you cannot resist showing your face at every and any opportunity, regardless of how you personally feel about it. Jerry, apparently has standards. And let us not forget that Jerry did make a cash donation and considerable advance notice. Now, the Donald is just trying to bully him. Nice quality for someone thinking about trying for the presidency. No, thank you.
