Elton John Confirms That Lady Gaga Is His Son's Godmother

After much speculation, Elton John and his partner David Furnish have confirmed to Barbra Walters, in an interview airing tonight on '20/20,' that Lady Gaga is the godmother of their four-month-old son, Zachary.

"Yes, yes she is," John said when asked if Gaga was one of Zachary's godparents. "When you get to the real person under there, there's a real simple person under there who loves her parents."

Furnish told Walters, according to MTV, "Zachary's going to inherit an incredible musical legacy from his father one day, and she will be a good person to guide him through the ins and outs of the music business, 'cause she sure knows everything about the business now."

The confirmation comes after months of speculation by the media. MTV UK reports that Furnish was reluctant to confirm that Gaga was the godmother, but told reporters in February, "We haven't publicly confirmed that yet but your sources are very good! I prefer not to comment on it because we are going to make a statement about godparents later on."

For his part, John has been joking about the rumors for some time. During his hosting stint on 'Saturday Night Live' on April 2, he joked, "For those of you concerned that we are unusual parents, do not worry. It's not like we are the only two people involved in the child's life. His godmother is Lady Gaga. That's true, that's not a joke ... which is ironic because I've always said that Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids. And Gaga loves Mars. She says Mars has good schools and great discos."

Plenty of people have a nanny, big deal. I'll bet the kid is raised with more love by them than you give out. Sounds like you're just a hateful, judgmental, "holier than thou" person ... and that's something doesn't bode well for your kids!

How can Elton John have a child with another man? I have read through the Bible some 25 times, and continue in daily devotionals, yet I cannot find the term "Godmother" in there anywhere. I do read that "The effeminate shall not inherit the kingdom of God." "Neither abusers of themselves with mankind."

God did indeed create the child, but as far as Elton John's predictions that he is going to inherit a great musical heritage some day, how does he know that?

The Bible says; "Boast not thyself of tomorrow, for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

Furthermore, "Lady Gaga" is one of the wickedest, ungodliest women I've seen. So how can she be referred to as a "Godmother," a relationship that doesn't even exist in God's Holy Word, the Bible?

That is just ludicrous. A Godparent is someone chosen to guide your child thru life. To raise your child if you and your spouse/partner are unable to do so. Lady GaGa is a freak with a drug problem. They are talking of this childs music legacy...he is only 4 months old. If they are already worried about his musical future then she can be his agent, manager or music teacher. Not a Godparent!!!
