Jerry Springer on Trump: He's 'Flavor of the Month'
EXCLUSIVE: Jerry Springer has a lot going on in his life -- 20th anniversary of his talk show, hosting duties of his dating show, 'Baggage' -- but the former big-city mayor always has time to talk politics. When Jerry called to say hi this week, I just had to ask about his fellow TV star Donald Trump, who in the course of a few weeks has become the Republican front-runner to oust President Obama.
"Remember when you were a little kid and a wise guy at the back of the class would shout things out?" Jerry asks. "That's Trump. He makes you laugh and giggle."
The TV legend, 67, tells me that "right now, Trump is enjoyable" and that he's gamely filling the role left by the sudden (and surprising) exit of another media darling. Says Jerry, "Sarah Palin is no longer the flavor of the month, so Trump is."

And though it's early yet in the race for the White House, Jerry -- who was mayor of Cincinnati and nearly ran for the U.S. Senate eight years back -- isn't impressed with the competition so far.
"I don't think any of these people are going to beat Obama," he tells me. "Republicans have overreached. Do we really want a country without Medicare?"
On the flip side, Jerry thinks Obama is doing fine and that his "heart is in the right place."
"He can't get everything he wants with Republicans controlling Congress fighting him," he says. "We have a class war going on at the moment. The powerful are stacking the deck in favor of the rich, which is why the gap is getting wider between the rich and poor."

Flashback to Last Year: Jerry Springer Defends His Talk Show Guests, Praises Sarah Palin
Jerry backed down from a possible run for the Senate in 2003 partly because of the negative reputation he gets because of his admittedly silly talk show, which first aired in 1991.
For starters, Jerry admits to me that he almost never watches his own show but he's confident of why it's endured and thrived for so long.
"It's so stupid," he says. "Our niche is outrageous, so we are not competing with anyone. We have cornered the market. It's total escapism, where we never pretend to be anything we are not. It's hard to find a job that is this much fun. It keeps me young."
Besides watching his outrageous talk show, be sure to check Jerry out on the game show 'Baggage,' only on GSN.

Donald Trump is another flavor, which is good since we have been drinking nothing but the same old bitter Obama Kool Aid way too long. As an Independent, I would find it hard to vote for Trump, but even hard to take Springer serious about ANYTHING!

The Donald is the flavor of the day...his 15 minutes of fame probably will be a little shorter than that !
He's already given us inflated figures on his wealth then the matter of his Bankrupcy problems...yea, 15 minutes is a bit too long !
Plus Trump has done more flip flopping that the cook at IHOP. On virtually every issue. Health Care, Iraq/Afghanistan, Abortion etc. To say nothing of having been married 3 times. That should go over real strong with the Family Matters crowd.
jerry you hire a hooker when you are mayor then pay with a check you are a smuck of the highest order of smuckdom i agree the bermuda triangle is waiting

And Springer is an honest and worthy person to say something?

What he meant to say was: Trump is like a pimple that won't go away!

I would prefer a Atheist run for office, at least with a Atheist, you know he or she isn't going to put the responsibility of taking care of business, on someone else.

Hey! HE IS BETTER THAN OBAMA!!! ANYONE WOULD BE BETTER THAN OBAMA!

Honestly, I kind of wish Jerry Springer or someone like him was running for President.
But then again, no. Then there will be no more new episodes of Jerry Springer Show and Baggage. Those are my favorite shows.

I can't wait til Obama is out of office, so I can go to all the liberal sites and start bragging!!! Obama's numbers are down down down. See, when Clinton was in office, the Republicans took over before his re-election, that's what helped him get re-elected. The Republican Congress was the one that helped get the surplus. Libs expect people to believe what they say, they count on stupidity.

What we really need is a country without Springer, and Obama..

Jerry should talk, with his sleezy redneck baby daddy show! He will never be the caliber of Donald Trump!

This is hilarious. Springer, who in his prime was intellectually the equal of a fourth grader, takes a shot at Trump. It's like someone hunting an elephant with a BB gun. Hey, Jerry, tell the folks at the care center not to worry, you'll be there soon.

Springer? What a joke. What an azz!
He can't hold a candle to Donald Trump...

Can anyone really seriously take jerrry springer for real.. Jerry at best is a clown... Only a liberal would have any respect for what this lowlife says...

Let me see if I understand this - Jerry Springer's criticism of anyone is news? Is this because he has such upper crust intellectuals on his show that he has been imbued with their wisdom and judgement?

Like he should have the nerve to insult anyone. Hoes go to hoes.

Maybe he's gotten to be like the guests on his show. incest, fornicators, welfare cheats, jail birds, drug addicts, wicca, 'each goes to their own kind." Oh those also vote for OBAMA..
