Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to 120 Days in Jail

Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 120 days in county jail on Friday for violating her probation, TMZ.com reports. She was taken directly from the courtroom to the courthouse for booking.
After reducing
Lindsay Lohan's grand theft case from a felony to a misdemeanor following a day of testimony over a reported stolen necklace, Judge Stephanie Sautner determined the actress violated her probation from a 2007 DUI arrest and was sentenced to jail. She was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service.
Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Holley, immediately filed a notice of appeal and bail was set at $75,000.
As for the case, Judge Sautner decided not to dismiss it altogether but said "I'm going to give her an opportunity" to prove her innocence in a trial.
Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers called four witnesses to make her case that Lohan should be tried for a felony, including the owner of the store where Lohan is accused of theft.
The actress turned down a pair of plea bargain offers in the necklace theft case recently.
Sofia Kaman, the owner of Kamofie & Co., testified on Friday that Lohan stole a $2,500 necklace from her store on Jan. 22. She told Judge Sautner that Lohan had been coming into the store all week to look at items, but never bought anything. She waited to report the necklace stolen because the actress had said she'd be back in a day to buy something else.
After a police report was filed, authorities reportedly waited until she was photographed wearing the necklace before deciding to pursue charges. A friend of the actress turned the necklace in to the Pacific Division of the LAPD on Feb. 2.
Lohan claims that the necklace was loaned to her -- and that her stylist simply forgot to return it in time. Kaman says she did not have any agreement with Lohan allowing her to leave the store with the necklace.
Lohan's lawyer Shawn Holley and Kaman got testy at times during the hearing. At one point, Holley noted that Lohan was baring a lot of cleavage that day and questioned why Kaman didn't notice the necklace dangling above it.
"I wasn't looking at her chest," Kaman said. "I was looking at her face."
At another point, Holley accused Kaman of profiting off the incident. "Celebrity sells right?" she asked the store owner, according to
TMZ. She reportedly replied, "It can." Kaman also denied selling a surveillance tape that was later released.
Judge Sautner warned both Kaman and Holley to be more respectful.
Lohan was officially charged during a hearing on Feb. 9. After pleading not guilty, Judge Keith Schwartz lanced into the actress for not taking the charges seriously. "If you violate the law again, I will remand you with no bail," he told her. "Things will be different."
The actress, who remains on probation in a 2007 drunken driving case, is accused of taking the necklace roughly three weeks after she was released from three months of court-ordered rehab at the Betty Ford Center.
The judge who initially handled the necklace theft case has said he thinks Lohan violated the terms of her release, but has assigned the preliminary hearing to Judge Sautner, who could send Lohan to jail after Friday's hearing if she determines there is enough evidence to support the probation violation.

Hasn't she overdosed yet? We can only hope.
If anybody can make a mockery of the this socalled justice system Lindsy Lohan got it down pat. And those so called judges (A Monkey can do better)are about ready for the funny farm. If that was some poor working slob they would have tried convicted sentenced and throwen away the key. Justice" don't make me laugh.

If you got money and pay for the best lawyers, you can get off.Nobody cares about the poor working slob,if it was your friend, you would be laughing at them.
I couldn't agree more. Wonder if I can do it and tell the judge " but Lindsey can do it and get away with it, why not me?" I'd be in jail for 5 yrs. The more she gets a slap on the wrist, the more she will do it. Wonder how much the judge was paid?
Totally agree.
....I was hoping she was going to jail. people like her need the book thrown at her. ANd people that support her need a strong dose of reality. YES people CAN and DO redeem themselves.....'Lilo' on the other hand has spat in the face of redemption time and time again. SHe's past reasonable amount of ....tolerance.

This waste should have be in jail a long time ago.

Lindsay is a spoiled, the rules don't apply to me, BRAT who needs to stop her stupid fake tears and go to jail for the crap she has done. If it were anyone else - they would already be in lock up! She is discusting.

There are so many of you that I so agree with. If it was you are I we would have been in lock up.

I feel that lindsay should at least have to spend a few days in jail so she won't feel like she can do what ever she wants and get a way with it. She has so far. Paris Hilton sure changed her attitude.

I agree BJ,however, she needs to go to jail a lot more then a few days,a few MONTHS might do her more good, she is not learning a thing with all the special treatment.Correct me if i misunderstood the judge the last time saying next time will be hardtime.
It's sickening that this LO HO can get away with this. She ought to be tried and, if found guilty, given the same sentence anyone else convicted of the same crime. Too bad the damned judges are always in someone's pocket. This sort of things is the reason of judicial system is a cess pool.

I totally agree with you Don, Ho Lo, has been given so many chances and yet again she gets aways from it. Anyone else would have been in jail for years. It's just going to get thrown out. Ho Lo is still out partying, and doing anything she wants. Don't worry one day, karma will bite her, and she will be sharing a cell with OJ...
The Judges are either on the "take" or just too damn stupid to give the little tramp the jail time she so rightly deserves...if it was you or I, we would be in jail for all three years with no chance of early release.

If I were the Judge I would sentence her to 3 years , in an orange suit , picking up garbabge off the streets for 8 hours a day. Nothing else has seemed to work.

I so agree Dennis, but lets leave her in her cell except for a run on the gounds once a day, then let her start seeing society on the road cleanup gang for the next to years.
of course she will, this girl couldnt be put in jail for doing somthing wrong unless she killed some one and even then she wouldnt get full term.kudos to her lawer she getting her moneys worth. its sad any normal person doing half the things she did would have been in jail a long time ago.
