Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to 120 Days in Jail

Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 120 days in county jail on Friday for violating her probation, TMZ.com reports. She was taken directly from the courtroom to the courthouse for booking.
After reducing
Lindsay Lohan's grand theft case from a felony to a misdemeanor following a day of testimony over a reported stolen necklace, Judge Stephanie Sautner determined the actress violated her probation from a 2007 DUI arrest and was sentenced to jail. She was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service.
Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Holley, immediately filed a notice of appeal and bail was set at $75,000.
As for the case, Judge Sautner decided not to dismiss it altogether but said "I'm going to give her an opportunity" to prove her innocence in a trial.
Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers called four witnesses to make her case that Lohan should be tried for a felony, including the owner of the store where Lohan is accused of theft.
The actress turned down a pair of plea bargain offers in the necklace theft case recently.
Sofia Kaman, the owner of Kamofie & Co., testified on Friday that Lohan stole a $2,500 necklace from her store on Jan. 22. She told Judge Sautner that Lohan had been coming into the store all week to look at items, but never bought anything. She waited to report the necklace stolen because the actress had said she'd be back in a day to buy something else.
After a police report was filed, authorities reportedly waited until she was photographed wearing the necklace before deciding to pursue charges. A friend of the actress turned the necklace in to the Pacific Division of the LAPD on Feb. 2.
Lohan claims that the necklace was loaned to her -- and that her stylist simply forgot to return it in time. Kaman says she did not have any agreement with Lohan allowing her to leave the store with the necklace.
Lohan's lawyer Shawn Holley and Kaman got testy at times during the hearing. At one point, Holley noted that Lohan was baring a lot of cleavage that day and questioned why Kaman didn't notice the necklace dangling above it.
"I wasn't looking at her chest," Kaman said. "I was looking at her face."
At another point, Holley accused Kaman of profiting off the incident. "Celebrity sells right?" she asked the store owner, according to
TMZ. She reportedly replied, "It can." Kaman also denied selling a surveillance tape that was later released.
Judge Sautner warned both Kaman and Holley to be more respectful.
Lohan was officially charged during a hearing on Feb. 9. After pleading not guilty, Judge Keith Schwartz lanced into the actress for not taking the charges seriously. "If you violate the law again, I will remand you with no bail," he told her. "Things will be different."
The actress, who remains on probation in a 2007 drunken driving case, is accused of taking the necklace roughly three weeks after she was released from three months of court-ordered rehab at the Betty Ford Center.
The judge who initially handled the necklace theft case has said he thinks Lohan violated the terms of her release, but has assigned the preliminary hearing to Judge Sautner, who could send Lohan to jail after Friday's hearing if she determines there is enough evidence to support the probation violation.

The judge needs to grow some balls and give her what she deserves.

she is surrounded by a bunch of leaches and hangerons..plus she really does not have any parents..they are hanging on to her fame..its no wonder she is having all of these troubles

If I worked at that store I would have noticed her chest.

I think she FINALLY GETS IT. She's back working, she did go to rehab......Let's NOT BLOCK her ability to RECOVER and get her career re-started now......I'm thinking this would be a shame. Media DOES have a heartless way of doing this. I say punish and be done with it......Quit dragging the sensationalism further......let it go......

By all means let her go again, its worked so well this far,,,,,, why is this nutcase so special? Her only claim to fame is being a druggie and a thief.

If it is reduced or thrown out the judge should be disbarred and arrested as she is on tape and accused by the store and a repeat offender on probation meaning any charge should kick in her back up time by law. She shouldnt even be out on bail legally now.
Reply
She'll get away with everything she's done that was ILLEGAL !!!
That's just the way it it folks.
To make her life more NAUSEATING than it already is.... She and that fool Travolta are actually HONORED to be in a movie portraying the MURDEROUS low life Gotti family. PITIFUL !!
I sincerely hope the movie FLOPS !!!!!!

shes a dime dog she can steal whatever she wants from me ..

it doesn't matter if they get her now or later...she can't walk the tight rope of probation as it is very hard and you are under the microscope 24/7. I am surprised that she has not created further damage since the necklace issue. If she runs out of money for defense Hef will give her a cool million to display her gash up close and personal.

She does whatever she wants, but because she is Lindsay Lohan, she thinks she should be able to get away with it. She needs some serious jail time, then maybe just maybe she will realize she is not above the law. Probably not, though. Hope the judge throws the book at her and she sleeps in jail tonight, where she belongs. Too many breaks for her.

I will ban going to all of her movies. I will not promote this stuckup egotistical actress that always get away with everything. This is girl is going to hurt someone real bad one day and I hope the courts will be blamed and held accountable for her getting away with all the things she does.

Unfortunately, this little town sl%t will get off so she can make stupid movies, and use again. She makes such a sham of the legal system it is no longer a system of equal justice for all. But you know, no matter how many breaks she gets, she still seems to be hungry for sensational media. Does she have even one real friend?

I have actually met Lindsay twice - once professionally and once socially. While I totally agree that she (or any other celebrity) is not above the law, She is not the terrible, spoiled person that so many seem to believe she is. She is actually quite nice and was not at all what I was expecting.
She was not rude or demanding in any way. She does need to stay sober, but not everything one reads about her is the truth. If she is found guilty of theft or anything else, then she deserves the jail time anyone else would receive, but she should not get a harsher punishment just because of her fame and the media spotlight that always seems to be on her. Don't believe EVERYTHING you read.

I'm really tired of hearing about her. I wish she would straighten out her life. There are so many good things that people do that are worth reporting. Enough about her! I hope the next story about her is that she changed her life for good. She needs Jesus, like all of us.

PUT HER IN JAIL ....................AND MAKE HER DO 85% OF HER TIME LIKE EVERYONE ELSE .

When the judge starts treating all his "customers" in the same way. its ok but he doesn't. She has done plenty and should be treated the same as others. If I stole a 2500.00 necklace I would probably not see daylight for a min. of 6 mo. No wonder she expects to be treated differently and is. She never gets in trouble. MONEY MONEY MONEY. Shame on the Courts.
