'Bed Intruder' Star Antoine Dodson Arrested

In the early morning hours Saturday, original 'Bed Intruder' star Antoine Dodson was arrested.

Police in Huntsville, Ala., booked the viral video star on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana; he was in custody a short time, according to TMZ, and released.

Dodson, 24, was charged with other misdemeanors as well: Speeding, failing to appear twice on a traffic charge and failing to have liability insurance.

When a reporter first put him on the air during a local news broadcast in 2010, Dodson said he'd witnessed an attempted sexual assault on his sister -- and he adamantly warned viewers 'Hide your kids, hide your wife' from the attacker. A viral sensation was born.

The drug-related arrest marks a setback for Dodson, who rocketed to fame after his initial TV clip inspired an Auto-tune song from the Gregory Brothers. The Chicago native then appeared on the 'Today' show, endorsed a mobile app and announced plans to shoot a reality TV pilot.

At the time he was discovered on the local news, Dodson was residing in Alabama housing projects and welcomed his nearly instant celebrity status: "This could be an opportunity for our family to get out of the 'hood," he recalls telling his sister, as quoted in an NPR report.

I saw him on TOSH.0. It was a hilarious. He was the web redemption that week. They had a picnic on the ground and they talked about the incident. It was so funny when at the end Tosh got in a box as they were trying to catch the rapist and, well check it out on YouTube or on Daniel Tosh's website. It is so hilarious.

Yes, he is a guy and yes he is gay. Who cares about either and who cares about the pot bust? Isn't there worse criminals out there on the street that can be busted? Pot is so not that big of a deal. BUT . . . with that being said, isn't this guys 15 minutes almost up?

What's with all the hate? This guy protected his sister from rape, he used his new-found celebrity to get his family out of the 'hood and everyone is capping on him because he likes to look a little femme. Get over it!

First of all, he is NOT a star. Nobody on any reality show is a star. At best they can be called celebrities. Reality shows are a huge waste of TV air time. Each is an example of just how low our viewing standards have sunk over the past couple of decades.
