Lindsay Lohan Posts Bail, Leaves Jail

Once a bondsman put up $75,000 in bail to free Lindsay Lohan on Friday night, TMZ reports that the actress walked out of Lynwood Correctional Facility after almost five hours in custody.

The actress, 24, was sentenced earlier in the day to 120 days in jail, plus 480 hours of community service for probation violation (stemming from a 2007 DUI). In January, Lohan had just completed three months of court-ordered rehab when she allegedly walked out of a jewelry store with a pricey necklace, leading to a theft accusation and her latest legal drama.

The judge on Friday reduced Lohan's felony charge to a misdemeanor, but ordered her immediately into custody and set a trial date. The court was reportedly swayed by surveillance video, which allegedly shows a friend of Lohan's acting as a decoy to distract a boutique owner, while the actress slips on a necklace. Lohan has insisted she had permission to borrow the bling, and has blamed a forgetful stylist for neglecting to return it promptly.

Lohan left the detention facility after sundown on Friday in a black SUV, with a sheriff's vehicle escorting hers off the premises. She's due in court May 11 for a pretrial hearing (back in February, Lohan declined a plea bargain, spurring her judge to warn "this case involves jail time"). Her booking in Lynwood is reportedly the fifth time she's been processed and released there.

The community service portion of Lohan's latest sentence requires her to spend 360 hours at the Downtown Women's Center (so she can "see how needy women have to live," according to TMZ) and another 120 hours at the Los Angeles County morgue.

Just goes to show how Money and Influence can purchase anything, the authorities in L.A. County have been bought and paid for by the Lohans. If this were you or me we would be under the Jail never seeing any day light.

wonder how much money Lohan how to spend on this Judge to get that felony charge reduced to a misdemeaner? Nowhere else in this country could you walk in a jewelry store with a friend, distract the shop keeper and walk out with a 2500 necklace and then NOT return it!!!! Only in california and only to celebrities.

I hope she has to do the whole 4 months...Hopefully that will wake her up and she'll get back on track with her life. Right now she feels she can get away with alot and the justice system has to show her she can't. I really hope that she gets her life together.

Eureka!...She has to actually do the 90 days, but it has to be in a maximum security all-male prison. 3 different "roomies" for the 3 mos...A Neo-Nazi, a Gangsta, and a Murderous Molester. Then, for her rehab she needs to be ordered to invest her entire net worth upon consultation with Bernie Made-Off. I don't really wish any evil harm on anyone but I simply can't prevent humorous ironies from bouncing around in my brain.

Apparently the standards for "burden of proof" for a "probation violation" are much lower than for a criminal trial. Even though she's supposed to be "innocent until proven guilty", apparently she was still found to have violated her probation (though she has yet to be convicted in criminal court).

Lindsay Lohan has not learn a lesson, and she should be kick out of Hollywood, who want to give her a job, when you are doing drugs and drinking, and she has the money for doing drug and drinking, she has the money to buy the jewely but she sold it the paid for it, why is she parents set her stright. What is the point of giving her a bail bond? She has more money hand god. Any celebrity can get out of jail. And when they do they just repeat the crime again. Seriously, there is absolutely no point in putting any celebrity in jail. If they do, just put them in without a bail. make them suck it up and rec'd something for their crime like jail time.
