Video: Lady Gaga Cries, Prays Backstage

Today, if you're fond of both eggs and prayer, you're not alone. HBO is teasing new documentary-style footage of Lady Gaga praying backstage, as the network counts down to its May 7 broadcast of 'Lady Gaga Presents The Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden.'

The black-and-white clip is essentially a monologue, as Gaga faces her dressing-room mirror and gets some pretty intense emotions off her chest, while wiping makeup off her face. If you've ever seen Madonna's 'Truth or Dare,' prepare for some déjà vu.

Gaga, 25, explains that although her monstrously successful tour has reached the biggest venue in her hometown of Manhattan, she struggles with insecurity: "I still sometimes feel like a loser kid in high school" (she attended a New York City all-girls Roman Catholic academy, Convent of the Sacred Heart). Watch the 'Born This Way' singer wrestle with what it all means, and pray for courage:

Listen, Gaga could be worshiping any number of God's or Goddess'. However, she chooses to represent Jesus Christ in her prayer. She is extremely influential and has the power to start a religious movement, should she see fit. The fact that she refers to God as a HIM says a lot about her humility and obedience to a Christian God.
I can't help but wish she had the "courage" to admit that God may be something greater than a man being. I think that she needs to let her creativity flow and to think bigger.

she may believe in Jesus Christ as the savior but she doesn't seam to understand what for ~ Like I have seen several of her videos and she dose not act Godly at all... It's Godly to want to help people but she is having a huge melt down because people worship her and she is humble to say that she doesn't care about that but that she worships her fans ????????? No that's not really directing people to God. she's trying to be their strength ? that's not possible but she has so much support and guess who from ??? yea...

@ Amber Bellomy - If you actually listen, she never mentions Jesus or Christ in her prayer. In fact, she tells "God" that she is here to worship her fans! I like Gaga, but if you're going to mis-quote her, you're gonna be called out.

@ Beth - Nobody acts Godly. Not one single person on the planet. If you truly think there is a single human being on earth who acts Godly or Godlike, you might need to have your head checked.

I so agree Ed...I'm 61 years old....I love Stephanie, her & her music, a humbler person is hard to find....all you haters are just jealous....GAGA's just a new talent whos knockin em dead...I wish her all the success & happiness....she needs a down home, genuine, Kansas City hug....like I said I'm just a has been ole hippie kinda guy who grew up with Dylan, Janis and the doors....I really like Lady Gaga...period !!

Yes, the haters & the fear mongers are led by one thing only and that is ignorance. Gaga is our Queen and will probably go down as the greatest rock star ever. And its not just her music & her songs; it is her devotion to social & political causes that make stand so high among the rest. It her devotion to her fans, so many of whom are among the misfits she views herself as being.

Dear Gaga, you are our Queen & we love you! We always will. All these little monsters will never abandon you. God bless you; we love you always!

Naaaa...I don't like her much because she is too much like Madonna. I lived the 80's so I feel nobody can replace Madonna of course. I don't feel like Lady Gaga is a train wreck. In her business if she slows down people will forget her and leave her behind. If she speeds up she will tear herself apart so she can't win either way. I would hate to be famous in this disposable world we live in these days. Way too much pressure for nothing. Really, kids of today don't have anyone to look up too. Nobody really cares about who she is as a real person. If they did, she could just be herself and not some crazy lady trying to find a way to wear a trashcan as a fashion statement of some kind. She tries way too hard to be different.

Ohh....you mean like "KISS" or David Bowie, "Big Dunb Face", "G-War", "Horse" (the band), "Insane Clown Posse" etc. etc. etc...you like most the other haters don't have a clue of the music industry or what is really out there....you don't know what your talking about...!!

You're not telling us anything we don't know. She's stated numerous times how she got her name. Her producer texted her that one of her vocals sounded like Freddie Mercury on "Radio Gaga." The autocorrect changed the words to "Lady Gaga," and she liked the sound of it. Thanks for playing, though!

I am a 56 working singer/musician. For the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would hate this kid. She is a phenomenal talent. As far as her copying other artists, I don't think that's a fair statement. Everyone in the arts have been influenced by others. It's where you evolve from being influenced that truly matters and GaGa has carved out her own unique brand! I, for one, really enjoy her music... very much! You don't have to be a fan, but c'mon folks, live and let live.
