NBC's hourlong season finale of 'The Office' is looming (May 19) and Michael Scott's job is still up for grabs. Now, EW.com reports that Jim Carrey will join the roster of guest stars playing various candidates who want to follow in Steve Carell's footsteps. In the season finale episode, Carrey will reportedly interview for the Dunder Mifflin gig, even though the series seems to be grooming Will Ferrell to run the Scranton branch. However, the Deangelo Vickers character (Ferrell) is not in the season finale, according to 'Office' star John Krasinski.
As the series marks this major crossroads, Carrey will appear in the Carell-free episode along with previously confirmed guests Ricky Gervais, Ray Romano, James Spader, Will Arnett and Catherine Tate.

Jim Carrey on the Office show?
Maybe he can change it from the boring mess that it is now.
I hope so..I'd actually like to watch it for more than 5 minutes at a time....when I get so bored with it..that I have to find another program to see...
YEAP... FOR REAL FOLKS!!!

i just rented I Luv U Phillip Morris w/ jim. HILARIOUS!
I have never seen the show . Jim wont make me want to watch it . cable is outta here . Tv is foolish
He got his break on "In Living Color" . "Fire Marshal Bill" & "Captain Kirk" where probly his two best skit charectors.
I agree, John...I didn't care for most of this current season at all..but I have to say, I thought last week's episode was hilarious...the way the show was when it was at it's best!
Jim has gone the Jerry Lewis road, career over! telethon time SKITZO! JUmp the shark, JUMP the shark! JUMP THE SHARK. THe office is closed

Why does the new boss on The Office have to be a man?

Gee, I dunno. It probably has something to do with the fact that offices run by men are more productive and successful. OTOH, it could be funny for a TV show to feature some dingy woman fumbling around in the job of manager.
Maybe that's why Catherine Tate is scheduled! She's ha lar ious!
I was thinking the exact same thing! I think a woman would be funny.
Will Ferrell? The least funny man on the planet. Never found him funny. Never Will (pun intended).
Jim Carrey. He's too good to waste his time on this show on a full time basis.

That's awesome. I loved him in the movie "I love you Phillip Morris."

I love the office and hate to see Steve Carell go, but I think John Lithgow would be a great replacment for him.

John Lithgow would be great, If Jim Carrey did this long term it would be making the honest statement that his career is on decline and needs help to recover. For John Lithgow, it would be return to success. I saw him on HIMYM playing Barney's real father. Hilarious, one of the best episodes.
Steve had a strange quirkiness that will be hard to replace. It was great while it lasted but I think the shows demise will be fast.

Talented dude...He deserves to be working, maybe he can save that show. Steve Carrell plays the same charecter in EVERY role he does !! It got old after Anchorman.

yea will ferrell does that too, along with most actors/actresses in h-wood
Jim needs to join Sheens one man show! What a FREAK

Well Bobby...I see you haven't watched 30 Rock or Parks and Recreation. Not to mention Jan on The Office, Michael's ex-boss, was pretty funny.

I couldn't take Jim Carey on a weekly basis. Once in awhile in a movie maybe but not every week.
