'Apprentice' Celeb: Trump Is Serious About Ratings, Not the White House

At least one person who has spent a lot of time competing to be Donald Trump's next 'Celebrity Apprentice' warns that no one should be fooled about the seriousness of his run for President in 2012.

"Don't put yourself in a trick bag," a contestant from this year's competition tells me. "This is all made up speculation that's designed to generate ratings."

While my source asked for anonymity for fear of Donald's wrath, other contestants, including Gary Busey, Niki Taylor and LaToya Jackson, have all said they'd vote for him.

Donald says his mind is made up, and his wife, Melania, told me last week that she'll stand by his decision. If he runs, NBC will be left with a very large hole to fill without a Donald-led 'Apprentice.' An executive at the network told the New York Times that all this posturing is just "Donald being Donald" and that they have serious doubts he'll actually run in the Republican primary.

The skeptical contestant echoed NBC's line of thinking, adding that the billionaire is addicted to media coverage and out to bolster ratings for the show.

"He is a genius at getting his name back in the headlines," my source says. "Whether it's picking fights with Martha [Stewart] or Rosie [O'Donnell] we should all have learned by now that this is just what he does."

We won't know until 'Celebrity Apprentice' finishes its run. Until then, expect him to continue questioning the validity of President Obama's birth certificate and picking fights with anyone who dares question him. (Today, it's Robert DeNiro.)

"You watch when the next season of Celebrity Apprentice is announced he will be at it again," the contestant says.

We have a black Bozo screwing it up now, but if we'd had someone experienced and respectable, such as Condi Rice or Colin Powell.....? Well, I'm not obsessed with who is darker than whom, but those two and scores of other people of color could have done a responsible job with our nation. NOBAMA & family just take vacations!
It would also be quite nice to have a Jewish president!

If Trump loved America as he claims he does then he would stop making a mockery out of the Presidential race and we the people.He would look for and support the best canidate there is ..we are in trouble and we dont need a clown making fools out of us and wasting our time...We need some one serious and stron and able to lead us back...not this donkey who'd like nothing better to do but then to brag how he got the American people to vote for him....Enough I say fellow Americans we need to get our pride back...

Well, I should not be surprised that Niki Taylor, La Toya Jackson, a few others are supporting Trump over Obama. What he did really do for them? Firing them.

I am in favor of Obama. He is a good President and that he is constantly attacked by some/most people. Maybe if they will stop bothering and accusing Obama, then he can make this country better than what it is or was when former President Bush ran.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, Ernie...and Obama deserves every bit of criticism he gets. He hasn't lead this country (well except into war with Libya), he has a total lack of leadership skills and just plain lacks knowledge.

Maybe in 2012 he can get his old job back working for the now dismembered ACORN.

I will happily vote to reelect President Obama in 2012. He has done everything right as a grandson, son, husband and father and understands and has learned from American history. He laso knows a thing or two about the cultures and economies of other nations.
His major fault is that in a world of world of screamers and haters he is neither. He suffers from being a reasonable person. And underlike past Presidents he refuses to believe that stupidity is a civic virtue. I do not "get" the kind and quality of the hate that has been directed against him but as a white woman I smell racism, nativism and fear of the "other" -ginned up by those who will financially benefit if he were to be defeated. This is an old story in American political history but in my humble opinion it is time that the American people stop falling for it.
