Daniel Radcliffe Feared An Eighth 'Harry Potter' Book

'Harry Potter' star
Daniel Radcliffe panicked at the prospect of J.K. Rowling added more books to the series, our friends at
Celebuzz report.
"I could definitely write an eighth, a ninth book," Rowling
told Oprah last October. "I think I am done, but you never know."
"I was worried!" Radcliffe told Celebuzz. "I texted her. I said, 'Look, is this true? Are you writing another book?!'"
Rowling kept Radcliffe waiting in agony (he'd texted her in the middle of the night) before responding. "She wrote back that she was so pleased with my performance in 'Harry Potter 7: Part 1' that as a reward, she promised to never write another book about Harry," Radcliffe said.
So was Rowling serious with Oprah or is the series truly closed?
Radcliffe, currently
starring in Broadway musical 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,' told Celebuzz he's been so slammed with the play his mind hasn't been on the final 'Harry Potter' film much. "In a few months, I'll have to flip the switch and get back into Potter mode for a few days, but right now there isn't time to be nostalgic about it," he said.
The 21-year-old Radcliffe also added that even his English heritage can't interest him in the
upcoming royal wedding. "I won't be getting up at 4AM to watch the wedding," he said, laughing. "I'll catch the highlights on CNN because they'll be running something 24/7. But back home apparently everyone is most excited for the four-day weekend, not the wedding."

He needs to know that he will always be Harry Potter and will not fit in any other movie! Thats just the way it is,He doesnt have the look for anything else and HP movies made him! He should be begging for more HP books. When Harry Potter movies are truly at an end so will his career because Harry Potter(HP) is his career! This is where many actors fall and never rise after HP he will be a has been and will never be thought of again sad but true.

I really enjoyed "reading" the books and hope she does write more.

Ungrateful pup. He would be no one without those movies. I understand his being tired of them, but he owes Rowling and the books. Not to mention his fans.

See, what you and others are missing is that is exactly what he's saying. If there were to be more HP books, he'd feel honor bound to do them. If he really was ungrateful, he'd be saying, "I really don't care if there are any more books, I'm not doing them."
Besides, if he said he was hoping for more books, you know a lot of the naysayers would be mocking him for that, saying things like, "Time to move on, you're not a kid anymore, time to get rid of the crutch and get a real acting job." Daniel is a good hearted, loyal person - there's just no winning with some critics.
What he must realize is THOSE BOOKS GAVE HIM THE LIFE HE LIVES NOW. He should not fear them, he should be happy. The fans want more, if he doesn't want to do it, go do something else. Be thankful Daniel, or you would be just working and nobody would know your name.

I guess he's tired of that 60 million dollars he's supposedly worth also. So ungrateful and rude.

The story is far from over there are now new young wizards and witches going to Hogwarts. I thank everyone from JK to the actors and the musicians and special effects people for the great movies they gave us. I wish the last 4 books had been split like the last book was. I am an old woman and sad to say Daniel, Emma and Rupert will always be Harry, Hermine and Ron.

Why do people have to be so negative. Daniel is a wonderful actor, I've seen him in other roles and he did a great job. I know whenever people see him they automatically think Harry Potter, why wouldn't they, the books and movies made him a star. An actor or actress always worries about being type cast but if they have real acting abilities they can move on. I think Daniel is one of those actors, I enjoyed seeing him in December Boys, and honestly I only watched it because he was cast and actually watched it more than once. I can't wait to see more of his talent. So stop the bashing, he is talented and not like many of the young actors who just waste their talent. As far as JK I think she's wonderful, I absolutly love her books, and if she decided to write more sequels I'd read them, whose says a movie has to be made about every one. I will always picture in my mind the faces of the stars that played the charactors as I read, and that will not ever change. It brings the pages to life. So go for it JK, arouse our curiousity.

She'll never write another book about Harry. But I think she said that so she wouldn't actually say she's not writing another book. She left open the possibility of writing another book set in the Harry Potter universe that doesn't star Harry Potter.
