Johnny Depp Set to Make '21 Jump Street' Cameo

It looks like
Johnny Depp will return to his old stomping ground. The actor will reportedly film a small cameo for the big-screen reboot of '21 Jump Street.'
A source revealed to
EW.com that it's likely Depp will stop by for an uncredited cameo in movie, but no other details have been released.
Depp starred in the '80s crime-fighting TV show, in which young-looking undercover cops helped crack teen crime. The updated movie version, which was co-written by 'Get Him to the Greek' star Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall, places a
slimmed-down Hill and
Channing Tatum in the lead roles.
"It's an entirely new imagination of what '21 Jump Street' is," Hill told
MTV News last year. "We're not doing a spoof whatsoever. It will be crazy characters that are in very unreal circumstances sometimes."
Hill
hoped that Depp would consider popping in for a cameo.
"Hopefully, he does it...It would be awesome if he did," Hill said, and in a separate
interview, Depp soon followed up by saying, "It could be very funny...I'm in, I'm in."
Filming on '21 Jump Street' movie started this week in New Orleans.

Wow, that's pretty funny that Johnny Depp is even considering doing a cameo appearance in the film version of 21 Jump Street considering how much he has trash-talked the very show that helped to make him famous. Then again, people start to have a different perspective once they reach middle age.

I thought the same thing, but agree on perspectives changing. He also cameoed in Freddy's Dead (Nightmare on Elm St 6), acknowledging that he got started in movies with the first Nightmare.
Either way, I won't be seeing it (maybe on cable) as I have no interest in watching Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum for 2 hours.
Johny Depp best movie even better than Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood is ALICE. JOHNY you are BONKERS but all the "BEST PEOPLE ARE"

He may be a little "weird" but he is also extremely cute and very well spoken. I bet he is a really good speller.

Listen closely to an Inception dvd made prior to the January 8th shooting in Tucson, especially during the dialogue, "Do It."

I'm in! I have the whole series of 21 Jump Street on DVD and would love to see Depp make a cameo. If I remember correctly, his biggest qualm with the show initially was that he didn't want to be type-cast and never taken seriously in the industry. Frankly, I don't blame him.
