Kirstie Alley Returning to Scripted TV
Kirstie Alley is eying a return to situation comedy with potential projects in the works at TV Land and HBO.
The 'Dancing With the Stars' contestant spilled the beans to AOL TV's
Michael Maloney on the
'DWTS' press line last night.
"I have a series being written for me right now that I really love the concept of," Alley told AOL TV. "They're doing it for TV Land and I like those guys. They are really bringing comedy back."
Alley said the TV Land concept is "sort of Virginia Woolf." However, that's not the only iron in the fire. "I have some people writing [a potential series] for me for HBO," she said. "But I really want to do movies."
Alley shot to fame as Rebecca on 'Cheers.' On the big screen she starred in the 'Look Who's Talking' movies and returned to TV with 'Veronica's Closet' and 'Fat Actress.'
Prior to joining 'Dancing With the Stars,' Alley starred in the A&E reality series 'Kirstie Alley's Big Life.'
While her new shows are in the works, Alley said she wouldn't be opposed to stopping by one of TV's most popular comedies, 'Modern Family.'
"I wouldn't mind popping in, but I really want my own show," she said. "And I really want my own movies. I'm selfish, what can I say?"

It's just a dance show, calm down. And a sky guy, animal arks and living in a whale belly might be strange to some people, too. Whatever she chooses to believe, it's not your business and doesn't affect you. Get over it.
so ...what kind of wacko religion are you following???Because you certainly are delusional..
So glad that has been give these opportunities.

I would love to see Kirstie on a scripted show. She looks great and is still very funny. I really hope she wins DWTS this season!

I'm sure she is super concerned about your opinion. She'll have a TV show and you'll still be flipping burgers or greeting people at Walmart.
You are the one from outer space because you are a fruit loop....
I learned she may be on one of three tv shows on cbs. Big bang thory, rules of engagement or molly and mike. sounds like an extra boost for one of the shows.

Mike and Molly would seem the best choice. It's about chubbies, too. She could be the glam aunt or something...
I enjoyed her when she was on "Cheers", about a million years ago (or so it seems). I like her as a kind of goofy, funny lady in a part, but definitely NOT on those so-called "reality-type" shows like one of her last one's, "Fat Actress". She wasn't likeable at all. Loud, annoying, demanding. I gave up on that one totally. Stay scripted, Kirstie. It's a lot better for you!

I have always thought Kirstie was absolutely gorgeous. And talented. And funny. I'll be glad to see her onscreen again.

No offense to Ms. Alley but the next series you should do, try an ensemble show. Evidence suggests that 1) you're not a lead and 2) movies are not your friend.
