Kate Hudson announced she's engaged to Muse rocker Matt Bellamy Wednesday on the 'Today Show.'During a live interview, host Matt Lauer pointed out a large rock on her ring finger and Hudson laughed, announcing the engagement.
"It just happened a week ago, I'm so glad you noticed," she told Lauer. "I haven't really announced it and I felt like the announcing thing feels so silly, and I was just waiting for someone to notice."
"He's a beautiful man, and I'm excited," she said of Bellamy. No wedding date has been set and Hudson kept quiet on the proposal details, adding only that is was "very sweet, very romantic."

Why on earth do people even get married anymore? It is such an outdated form of ownership. No one should belong to anyone through legal papers. Women say they are so "modern" yet they still sit around waiting for a man to decide if she's good enough to "POP THE QUESTION" to. To hell with that thinking. If two people love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together, they will, papers or no papers. I think it's pretty clear that marriage does not mean forever. Like it or not, marriage creates the opposite of what two people want. It creates a feeling of being "stuck" in an old fashioned institution and soon the two people are wanting out. It's just ridiculous.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the "norm" nowadays--not just with celebrities but society in general. In my earlier years, it was almost a disgrace to get pregnant before marriage. Those of us in the "old" category were taught morals. I'm not saying it was easy when you were in love with someone to abstain but that was just the way it was then. With so many partners...this doesn't apply just to Kate Hudson...you are taking chances with more than pregnancy.
You can call me old but I still can't get used to the attitude of todays young people.

Who the hell does everyone think they are, putting down Kate Hudson, someone none of you know personally. What makes any of you any better than her? Maybe she's dated several guys and had a child with one of them..so what?! that makes her an awful person? i don't think so..Love is not always easy to find and I imagine in Hollywood it has got to be a lot harder. People need to stop being so judgemental, its quite sickening!

You hit the nail on the head there! So what, she's pregnant and not married. It's not the 1800's. Why on earth do you people care what she does. It's no skin off your nose. Bunch of judgemental busy bodies. I'm 51, have a 15 year old, and have never been married, but I've been with the same guy for 25 years. That is longer than most marriages last, but I guess I have no morals because I didn't feel the need to walk down the isle. Grow the heck up people.
Let's see. . she's been married, divorced, played footsies with A-Rod, and several others and now is pregnant by a really ugly man who she isn't married to, but they are engaged. And I care because????? Kate Hudson is another one of the "pretend celebs" who is talentless, but has a healthy libido.

And if you don't know who Phil Spector is...Google him! Just make sure you don't eat before viewing his picture!
