James Durbin, the resident rocker on this season of 'American Idol' brought it back to basics this week. Taking on The Shirelles' 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow.' The performance launched with Durbin strumming a single chord and otherwise letting his voice tell the story. We knew he had a huge voice, but he brought us the tender side of that incredible range. It was a nice facet to his talent that had been largely under-represented throughout the competition this far.
"Tonight, you weren't just a great rock singer. Tonight, you proved that you're a great singer," Randy Jackson said.

The way Randy claimed Durbin to win it all and went on stage was unprofessional for a judge. he needs to keep his choice personal the rest of the contestants should have said no use to continue Randy picked the new idol. Randy no longer is a valid judge.
I've been a loyal fan from the beginning and I like the changes this session but tonight turned me off I may consider watching voice.

The judges have been predicting 'winners' since the auditions! Every other episode we heard one of them say: "I think we found THE ONE!". This is hardly something new. It doesn't matter what the judges think anyway, they don't get a vote.
I agree with you. I was like 'what?!' The other contestants must be a little po'd now that Randy has declared him a winner. (Although I must confess that I was thinking that James had it anyway). But I wonder now what the voters will do as they are pretty fickle. Sometimes the judges doing this has the opposite affect.

Please Simon used to say who was gonna win from the beginning...he predicted Carrie Underwood...and said she'd be the biggest selling artist from the show!!...I've been watching from the beginning too and this is the best set of contestants they have had with real "talent"...well unless you consider "sanjaya"...he had talent....lol...They all are bringing something to the show this year!! Your not gonna watch please!!!

...simply said to the powers that be...."NEXT YEAR, GET RID OF RANDY!"

When Randy went up there, he was congratulating James on doing such a great job....that doesn't mean to say that he is playing favorites..he was just expressing his opinion of the performance, something that all the judges do....for someone to take this as a personal insult, get a life!!

James is the man, he proved it last night!

James and Scotty are the top two, please america send grunting Casey home tonight?

I agree Casey needs to go. I don't know why he is still around!
I agree, I hope James wins it, he is a great singer, and to the judges, they should have saved the save for someone better than Casey, he should have gone home when he was voted out by the fans. Great job James

I thought James was fantastic and someone I would see in a concert by himself. I think Randy was right last night. Although, Scotty has fierce talent, too. It think that no matter what Scotty and Lauren will have a great country following and we will be hearing from them. If one of them win, then we will still be hearing from James on the charts.

James was outstanding. Every single song Scotty sings sounds the same to me. I can't take much more of him. Also, by now he should know how to hold a microphone. Dump him. James is the winner and deserves to be. He has been consistently good and different each week.

It's all a marketing ploy on "Idol's" behalf! James will be sent home, it will make ALL the media outlets, Ryan (the Kardashian's pimp) will be there telling EVERYONE they have to VOTE, Steven will drop yet another "F-bomb," J. Lo will cry! Happens all the time! Another reason we turned it off!

Please give America a bit of credit. Randy is not so all powerful (especially in that outfit :) ) that he's gonna sway the vote. James has been my favorite from the beginning.

ALL THE CONTESTANTS are far AVOVE totally TALENTED. My personal choice is James. BEYOUND AMAZING. I think he has it hands down. I tune in each week BUT still waiting to see how James does the next time. NEVER DISSAPOINTED, JUST M-O-R-E AMAZED AT HIS TALENT. GO JAMES
As far as Randy, hummm, he was just being human, he sees and felt the talent too. So what? Viewers walked up stage with Randy. If the other chalengers were upset, they'll push to shine even more with pushing THEIR gift. Good luck to all and GO JAMES.
