Report: Chuck Lorre Preparing Charlie Sheen-less 'Two and a Half Men' Reboot

A
'Two and a Half Men' without Charlie Sheen is one step closer to reality.
According to
The Hollywood Reporter, 'Men' creator Chuck Lorre is working on a reboot of the popular CBS sitcom. Sheen would have no role in the new show, but costar Jon Cryer would.
Cryer has reportedly been presented with the plan, which would focus on his character, Alan, and a new character who has yet to be cast. Lorre is said to have presented the idea to a few other Hollywood players, and the network and studio are aware of his intention to overhaul the series.
No actor has emerged as a frontrunner to replace Sheen after reports of Rob Lowe and John Stamos were shot down. The network has yet to schedule the return of 'Two and a Half Men,' but reports indicate CBS could be eying a mid-season launch.
Sheen was fired from the popular series in March after a series of very bizarre public antics and interviews which have culminated in Sheen's cross-country tour, '
Charlie Sheen Live: My Violent Torpedo of Truth.' Depending on the location, Sheen has had bad luck with crowds on the tour.
Sheen and Warner Bros. TV are in litigation, with Sheen suing for $100 million and to get his job back.

Good for Chuck Lorre! CBS needs to stick to their guns and make a show without Charlie Sheen. Anything will be better than having that loser back on the networks. I wish Chuck the best of luck with the new endeavor!

I'm glad they are moving forward with the series but to wait a year to have a new episode is way too long. We will have forgotten when where to watch it if there hasn't been a new series on another channel to fill the time slot. Bring it back sooner and we'll all want to see what direction the show takes.
KNIGHTIE...I'm with you.. I stopped watchimg the show BEFORE he went on his loony tune trip. Now, without stoned, typecast sheen
I will watch again.
As for sheen's legal action. sure hope he loses.
Charlie Sheen or nothing. Please. And the guy below proposing the half brother going into the Army because he was too dumb to go to college: YOU are too dumb to get into the military, you yellow bellie!!
Helpful hint: People who cannot spell belly should not call others dumb.
How about killing Charlie off and leaving everything to Jake with Charlie's mom overseeing the estate so they all have to live together. Or leaving everything to Jake and having Judith and Herb move in. That beats trying to bring in another actor.

as long as they keep berta, the show can't lose. she's a hoot and a half!
Or how about this. Rose finally kills Charlie, accidentally but killed nevertheless. Rose is finally put away. Charlie's house goes to his mother and Alan. At the same time she introduces her illegitimate son who was born before Charlie and who moves into the house because out of guilt she gives it to him. He has money of his own and now the house. Alan prepares to move out but somehow loses all the money he inherited from Charlie and has to stay...continuing to sponge off his new half brother...who BTW only wants to please the mother (but behind her back hates her). He is played by Denis Leary and has a son that moves in with him while Alan's kid goes off to the military (because he's too dumb to get into college). There you have it...same dynamic, same house, most of the same cast and new blood and endless possibility for new story lines.
who is Chuck Lorre stealing this idea from?

I love Jon Cryer and the rest of the cast but I wish they would stand by their co-star, Charlie Sheen. And as much as I loved that show, I have zero interest in it without Sheen. It's like Chuck Lorre is trying to turn the cast members on him. Jon Cryer probably doesn't need the money, he should stand by Sheen on a united front. United they stand, divided they fall. And Chuck Lorre is poison for doing this to spite Charlie Sheen.

Say what!?! As much as I loved "Men" and Charlie, the united front needs to be with the other stars and the producers. We have all had friends who have gone off the deep end with drugs and booze and had to wait for the "rock bottom" event to bring them back around. Charlie hasn't quite gotten there yet. When he does, his friends will once again be there for him. Until then, we all have to take care of ourselves.
Chuck Lorre is trying to turn the cast members on him? LOL. I'm pretty sure Sheen did that all by himself.
Charlie dug his own grave, Brett. I'm surprised ANYONE in Hollywood still wants anything to do with this waste of oxygen.
I totally agree. I will not watch it without Sheen. The entire cast makes this good entertainment. And I too wish the other cast members would stick up for him but in today's world that's not politically correct. I don't care what any of them do in their personal lives. No entertainer should serve as a "role model." I wonder how many of these critics would make good role models. What a crock. Good luck to Charlie with the exes, kids, career, hoes, booze and whatever else makes you happy; have a good life.
I agree - why even bother? This show will never be as good as it was with Sheen. Say what you will, but he was great on this show!
Charlie Sheen is a pig and does not deserve to be on TV or any other media outlet
It should be canned, same gag week after week, last series charlie was playing charlie sheen. He had to sit down for most of his scenes
This could work. Take Ryan Stiles, the guy now married to Judith - have them get a divorce and he, Alan, and Jake can all live together. It could work!

A great idea! Who needs Charlie anyway?
No Charlie, are you kidding, might as well bag the show. He is the show, with-out him you have nothing. Really that's the best you can do, give it up.
