Report: Chuck Lorre Preparing Charlie Sheen-less 'Two and a Half Men' Reboot

A 'Two and a Half Men' without Charlie Sheen is one step closer to reality.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'Men' creator Chuck Lorre is working on a reboot of the popular CBS sitcom. Sheen would have no role in the new show, but costar Jon Cryer would.

Cryer has reportedly been presented with the plan, which would focus on his character, Alan, and a new character who has yet to be cast. Lorre is said to have presented the idea to a few other Hollywood players, and the network and studio are aware of his intention to overhaul the series.

No actor has emerged as a frontrunner to replace Sheen after reports of Rob Lowe and John Stamos were shot down. The network has yet to schedule the return of 'Two and a Half Men,' but reports indicate CBS could be eying a mid-season launch.

Sheen was fired from the popular series in March after a series of very bizarre public antics and interviews which have culminated in Sheen's cross-country tour, 'Charlie Sheen Live: My Violent Torpedo of Truth.' Depending on the location, Sheen has had bad luck with crowds on the tour.

Sheen and Warner Bros. TV are in litigation, with Sheen suing for $100 million and to get his job back.

THIS IS THE STUPIDEST IDEA EVAR.

The Two and a half men, would lose 80% of their people that watch the show, IT was the stupidest thing ive evar heard, that you can replace sheen, Jon Cryer?

I hope Sheen wins the case.

I love 2 1/2 men as is. I won't watch the show without Charlie. He is the show. Have watched it for years. He is a problem & needs to get himself straight to do the show if asked. I think he is Bi-Polar plus the drugs. He was a great shape for a number of years & can do it again.

I agree. People posting on here must not have watched the show, but are posting their 1 1/2 cent's worth of opinion. Sheen was the star of the show, and it will not work without him. The ratings will show this and it will not last a season...

If Chuck Lorre wants to add insult to injury he should hire Bree Olson for a recurring role. She is trying to break into the mainstream. Such a move would really add insult to injury.

I never liked Charlie on the show. According to some sources, he will be replaced with Clay Aikens. I think Clay would be perfect for the show. They could showcase Clay's musical talents and bring a much more wholesome message to the youth of America.

Love the show- love the entire cast. How the hell can it survive without Charlie Sheen?? Can't, won't work!!!!!!
Subs just can't cut it- Charlie has such a great delivery of his lines. Sadly, he has mucho problems though he doesn't think so. Hopefully he will try to straighten up and fly right (without the crappy drugs, of course.) Want you back on the show!!!

Chuck Lorre builds a show around Charlie Sheen's persona. Chuck then fires Charlie Sheen for acting, well, like Charlie Sheen. Now Mr. Lorre is trying to revive it. That tells me Lorre is crazier than Charlie Sheen. The show didn't just jump the shark; it was eaten by it. And now Mr. Lorre wants to collect the feces from the shark and call it Two and a half Men?

I can't believe there's people that think sheen was the show.If it wasn't for the rest of the cast sheen would not be funny at all.Give the rest of the cast a chance I'll bet the show would be just as good.
