Report: Chuck Lorre Preparing Charlie Sheen-less 'Two and a Half Men' Reboot

A 'Two and a Half Men' without Charlie Sheen is one step closer to reality.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'Men' creator Chuck Lorre is working on a reboot of the popular CBS sitcom. Sheen would have no role in the new show, but costar Jon Cryer would.

Cryer has reportedly been presented with the plan, which would focus on his character, Alan, and a new character who has yet to be cast. Lorre is said to have presented the idea to a few other Hollywood players, and the network and studio are aware of his intention to overhaul the series.

No actor has emerged as a frontrunner to replace Sheen after reports of Rob Lowe and John Stamos were shot down. The network has yet to schedule the return of 'Two and a Half Men,' but reports indicate CBS could be eying a mid-season launch.

Sheen was fired from the popular series in March after a series of very bizarre public antics and interviews which have culminated in Sheen's cross-country tour, 'Charlie Sheen Live: My Violent Torpedo of Truth.' Depending on the location, Sheen has had bad luck with crowds on the tour.

Sheen and Warner Bros. TV are in litigation, with Sheen suing for $100 million and to get his job back.

Totally agree with you, Johnny. The reason why Charlie was funny was because his LINES were funny. Jon Cryer is hands down the funniest one on the show...his character takes the prat falls and the goof ups. I absolutely love the episode where he takes the experimental pills because it paid well. He was hilarious!!! Charlie Sheen did make one bit of difference in that episode. Jon Cryer stole the show!

I think it would be funny if Charlie runs off with a girl to Europe, leaving everything to Alan (that way, it leaves the door open for a return of Charlie). Herb and Judith then get a divorce and Herb moves in with Alan and Jake.

How HARD is this? You already have Ryan Stiles (Herb). Have Judith throw Herb out and he moves in with Alan. Have Charlie be gone on tour, or on his honeymoon, or killed off in an appropriately humorous way. Toss in Gordon the Pizza Guy and you're set. Next question.

I think they should replace Charlie with his brother, Emilio Estevez. Pay him the same money, who could refuse that paycheck? and bring him in as Charlie's brother that no one knew about. Evelyn of course would play a big roll in the introduction of this new character. But every episode she's in is wonderful. They don't have enough of her anymore. Emilio's character could even have a son or daughter about Jake's age. EVERYONE would watch (like a train wreck) to see if Emilio could pull it off and ratings would go out of this world! Chuck Lorre should thank me for that idea.

There is no show without Charlie Sheen he is the best, this is the only reason I watch the show, Jon Cryer is so annoying, I will never never watch the show with Charlie Sheen. BRING CHARLIE SHEEN BACK.

Good Luck Lorre! The only reason anyone watched your show was because Charlie Sheen was on it. Charlie is not going back regardless. Charlie will settle his lawsuit for one big chunk of money and will just sit back and laugh.

Good for Lorre! Here's my idea. Disappear Charlie's character by having him elope with some European royal. He gives his home to Cryer. Get rid of another character or use her less - the Mom. Bring in an older guy (Ed Asner?) as the guys' Dad. He moves in. Guess what son is a "chip off the old block" - not Cryer. LOL

rose and charlie have run off to rio, brazil or somewhere far away thats tropical so rose can get a quickie divorce from manny quinn then she and charlie tie the knot stay in paradise leaving alan and berta his house on the beach story continues from there minus rose and charlie!

Yeah!!! Alan has always carried the show in the first place and the young man that plays his son and the housekeeper.
This show will flourish. An example needs to be set for someone with an ego that is over the top.

Charlie Sheen may be a dope, but he was perfect with the others in Two and a Half Men. It certainly cannot be as funny as the rappot between him, his brother, his mother and Berta. I will probably not watch. He is not a role model, he is a actor and a good one. Silly not to have him on the show.

I would like to see the show back as soon as posible without Charlie sheen, with another actor playin his part, the show Two and a Half Men is very funny, is too bad Charlie lost his marbles, but that is not our problem the show must go on, I love everybody in it Alan, Jake, Berta, Rose, Judith, Alan's mother with all of her unnecesary plastic surgery and they are all funny and wonderful Charlie can be replace by a handsome actor and everybody happy. Please bring back the show, sinceraly Sarita.
