Chace Crawford Strikes Deal in Marijuana Case

'Gossip Girl' actor Chace Crawford has made a deal in his marijuana possession case -- which began with a Texas arrest last summer.

According to TMZ, if Crawford stays out of trouble for a year, his criminal record will be wiped clean. "[Chace] has agreed to a pretrial diversion program," TMZ writes. "Translation -- if he meets certain conditions in the next 12 months, the case will be dismissed and there will be no criminal record."

In June of 2010, Crawford was found rolling a joint while sitting alone in a car in a parking lot of Ringo's Pub in Plano, Texas, located just north of Dallas. A HollywoodLife.com source said at the time that "he had a little under 2 ounces of marijuana in a plastic baggy sitting in clear view on the dashboard."

The HollywoodLife source added that Crawford was "very polite and low key in a pair of jeans and flip flops and never identified himself," when he was arrested.

TMZ writes in order to fulfill his deal, Crawford must avoid criminal conduct for one year, report to a probation officer monthly, and perform 24 hours of community service this summer.

it certainly is, and to have it sitting out on the front dashboard? what, did he forget it's still an illegal substance, like you can't even have an open bottle of alcohol in the car let alone 2 ounces of weed in plain view, that's just plain stupid :|

This guy got caught rolling a marijuana Cigarette in his car. He gets busted. No fighting. No injuries. No cause for alarm. I hope he does get the lighter sentence for just smoking a weed that you can grow in your back yard...so lame. Go catch a bank robber or a car jackker, coppers!

hey there franky! struck a nerve, huh? hehe. actually, i should explain my rant. it's just that every time i turn on the tube i hear about the feds investigating yet another politician, or judge, or cop in my area. the corruption has gotten so bad, in fact, that many people credit them for destroying an entire metro economy. so forgive me if i don't jump for joy when i hear "yeah usa" from one of you def, dumb, and blind. perhaps my faith in 'your' system would be restored if the feds actually punnished those people like they would a regular person. some guy smoking pot somehow just doesn't seem so important to me. funny you say watch you say, try and sneak back in? well in my expirence, i see people jumping the boarder all day over and over. just doesnt make any sense why rolling a j is illegal. i can buy ciggaretts and alcohol (just two) whenever i want. but the natural anti depressant wich doesnt have 1 confirmed death EVER!! is aginst the law, just shows how bad big buissnes and politics has gottn.
