The recessional march from Westminster Abbey that ended the historic wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton (make that Duchess of Cambridge) began a long day full of photo ops.As the family gathered inside the throne room of Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth II sat next to her husband, Prince Philip, for their grandson's official family portrait with his new bride. The newlyweds look genuinely delighted striking a regal pose alongside their parents, siblings and young wedding party (on the far left, 3-year-old bridal attendant Grace Van Cutsem was typically contrarian about all the pomp and circumstance). Best man Prince Harry cracks a grin next to the groom, but why was Maid of honor Pippa Middleton banished to the edge of the group?

Hello................do you really think Charles played no part in the affair? It does take two! He was in love with her before he married Diana. That marriage was tragic for all concerned.
Nice pictures but I have a question..who are the parents of the little kids? Are they cousins, friends kids, etc?

They're Will & Kates from the last 10 years of living together. I thought everybody knew that! Where have you been under a rock or what?
The little blonde boy is their favorite nanny's son, one of the little girls is a 2nd cousin & one is William's goddaughter.
Nice pics of a nice couple.
To your question - why was Maid of honor "banished" to the edge - I really don't think she was banished but maybe it was inappropriate her in white dress standing next to bride also in white. Just my opinion.

It's tradition in the UK for the bridesmaids to wear white. And she was not banished - beside Kate are her parents, her brother and then her sister.
William is not the Queen's eldest Grandson. Princess Anne's son is

Definately wrong, Camilla does NOT belong in that picture. Should have respected Princess Diana's memory at the very least.

Princess Di is a memory, Camilla is married to Charles
I agree that Camilla shouldn't have been allowed in the photo, but this was a beautiful wedding.. My only hope is William treats Kate alot better than the way his father treated Diana.. I hope they are very happy

William is his mother's son. He will be a wonderful, loving husband & father. Diana would be very proud.
She is at the end because she is wearing white. She should have worn another color. I wonder why whoever set up the wedding and attire never told her no on the white. I also agree Camilla should not have been in the picture..Charles was the end of Diana and I loved her. She was a special person, loving, caring and kind. I hope the new married couple stay in love and are very happy. Next there will be new babies for them.

CHRISTY- Pay attention, idiot. It is TRADITION IN THE UK FOR BRIDESMAIDS TO WEAR THAT. Get it? My God some people are dense.
Prince Harry best looking one in photo...

Prince Willian needed a haircut. He does not know how to smile. Queen Elizabeth forgot her blue blanket from the Bentley to cover her legs... Camilla is a hot mess. Kate looked beautiful. I just hope her luck is better than Diana's...

All the men needed haircuts!!! Harry's hair was wild....
While I do agree Camilla should not be in the photo, as she is not the boys' mother, William and Harry seem to have embraced her. They were both at her and Charles' wedding. Besides, you can be sure, that if the queen didn't want her in that photo, she wouldn't have been. Plenty of family wedding photos include second husbands and wives. Granted, this is the ROYAL wedding, and there are standards and traditions... and it just looks wrong.

Lovely photo. Camilla has every right to be in this photo. She is MARRIED to Prince charles. Yes, she will be queen some day if charles outlives his mother. He was just as guilty of the affair as camilla. Diana knew about charles and camilla before getting married.
Every single detail of this wedding was planned out. Im pretty sure that they new the sister would be wearing white.

While Charles is just as guilty as Camilla is, he is William's biological father and that makes a difference. Whether or not Camilla is married to Charles, she cannot escape the fact that people remember her for for being an adulterer and breaking up the marriage. It might not be fair, but perception is reality and the fact that she is not biologically related to anyone makes it more difficult for people to overlook what has happened. I think her being in the picture is an inappropriate reminder of all that has happened. Camilla's presence alone causes people to remark on the happenings of the past rather that the celebration of the present.
