Did Prince Harry Make the Bride Cry at Royal Wedding Reception?

After their historic wedding inside Westminster Abbey Friday morning, the newly named Duke and Duchess of Cambridge fulfilled royal obligations (photos, kisses, waving). Then, they had a party to attend!

Now, details are emerging from the festivities about the music, menu and other special touches.

About 300 of the couple's family and friends were invited to the evening reception that was hosted by Prince Charles inside Buckingham Palace, according to Us. And with her groom in a dapper tux, newlywed Kate Middleton changed from her lacy wedding dress and veil into another Sarah Burton gown and sweater.

Prince Harry's remarks were a highlight during the black-tie affair; Prince William's brother reportedly delivered a tasteful tribute to the new couple, free of embarrassing wisecracks -- and made mention of their late mother, Princess Diana, who died when the groom was 15. An insider reports that Harry told guests how much of Diana he sees in his older brother. The bride was said to be moved to tears.

For William and Kate's first dance, they were serenaded with a cover of Sir Elton John's 'Your Song,' performed by rising British pop singer Ellie Goulding.

Goulding, 24, was the only artist invited to perform live at the wedding reception -- the couple are reportedly big fans of her 2010 album, 'Lights.' She followed up 'Your Song' with her own single, 'Starry Eyed.' What did chefs feed the dazzling crowd? Crab, beef, chocolate pudding, and ice cream were on the menu. And as a souvenir, each guest went home when the party ended at 2 a.m. with a pair of cupcakes, boxed up with the couple's official engagement photo. The late-night treats were custom-packaged by Cake Kit Company, a provider of wedding favors owned by Kate Middleton's brother, James.

As a finale, fireworks began while carriages drove guests off the palace grounds.

The world needs something like that for a change. We all need to focus on some goodness and Fairy tales, and happiness. nothing wrong with taking a time out for that. Nothing at all. Even my grandbaby girl not even two years old, loved it and so did my grandson Five years old.

We told them they were real prince and princess. They Loved it and we we all left for the day and had a great day. That was a wonderful way to start mine

I'm with you. It was delightful-particularly the BBC broadcast that I was able to access via my local PBS station.

As the daughter of a member of the US Army Airs Corps who spent 5 years training (Canada)and flying with the Allied Air Forces in the the north of England (1940-1945), I was thrilled by the air show as well as the beauty of the day's events.

At last, someone honest enough to admit they loved the wedding! No one knows how to put on a show like the British! I, along with some friends, took Friday off,dressed to the nines, left our spouses or significant others at home,and went to a tea party at The Ritz @ 4:00 A.M. to watch the wedding. We are successful professionals, not wishful romantics,and we had the time of our lives!

Why didn't Elton John perform "Your Song" himself? Wasn't he invited?

He was invited as a guest. I'm not sure why he wasn't the one to sing it, though.

Elton John was invited, along with 1899 others to the wedding ceremony. The reception, hosted by the Queen, included 600 guests, and the evening reception, hosted by Prince Charles, was attended by about 200 close friends of the couple. As with any wedding, royal or not, many people who are invited to the ceremony are not invited to the reception. Elton John was invited to the ceremony because of his friendship with the late Diana, but he never met her sons, so he wasn't there to sing "Your Song."

The hats were the best that is what made it fun like an art show on the heads, tradition and different from everyone else. I loved it, for once something nice and happy to watch. Be Happy William and Cate!

What many of you don't get is this an English Tradition. They have to do what the Monarchy issues. Other words they have to do certain things in the Wedding. At least William is trying to change some of them, but it was beautiful, and they really looked happy.

I do believe you both mean "in other words."

I agree, this was no regular Wedding, it was history, and should be watched with your children, especially a girl because I think girls get it more. Kings, Queen's, Lords, Ladies, Dukes, etc. I've never been to a Wedding like that. I don't think any of you have either.

I am old enough to remember when a gentleman was not considered well dressed if he did not have his dress hat and overcoat when he went out in cold weather. In the summer men even wore straw hats with suits and ties (the gentlemen who dressed, not the lower echelon). I would like to see those days return frankly. The hat was a sign of power and being "large and in charge."
