Pop sensation and actress Selena Gomez has been announced as a co-host and performer at this year's MuchMusic Video Awards, slated for June 19 in Toronto.

"I am thrilled and honored to host the MuchMusic Video Awards," Gomez said in a statement released earlier today. "I look forward to seeing all my Canadian fans and kicking off the summer together."

Gomez –- who is releasing her third studio album (due June 29) and launching her We Own The Night summer tour later this year -- joins previously announced performer Lady Gaga as the confirmed performers for the ceremony set for MuchMusic headquarters.
