'Book of Mormon' Scores Big With Most Tony Award Nominations

If you're jones-ing to indulge in a theatrical snack, look no further than this year's Tony Award nominees. Although it looks like Broadway musical, 'The Book of Mormon,' will nab the top honors -- the show has 14 nominations -- actors like Al Pacino, Vanessa Redgrave and Frances McDormand also scored best performance nominations.
The little musical that could, 'Book of Mormon,' climbed to the top of the box office and nominations list despite a lack of ticket drawing names to light up the marquee. The production, written by the creators of 'South Park,' follows an odd couple of LDS boys sent on a missionary trip to Africa -- although self-proclaimed, it is "God's favorite musical," and apparently the Tony's as well.
But what's one musical that's noticeably absent from the best of the best list? The big budget production with even bigger technical difficulties, 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.' And although his career was born from magic, according to the nominations lineup,
Danielle Radcliffe was
unable to make magic on stage in his play, 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,' -- although the production was nominated for eight awards.
Catch the Tony Awards live on Sunday, June 12.

From the creators of South Park?? oh yeah....you know it's just GOT to be historically correct and non-biased. But these things serve a good purpose.....to those who know members of the LDS Church, they will see how misrepresented members of the Church are. It's all good.
