The Story of Royal Bridesmaid Eliza Lopes and Her 'Wiggly Worm'

Have you had a good look at Prince William and Kate Middleton's official wedding portrait? Notice anything unusual? No? Then maybe you should have another look. Carefully nestled in the right hand of mini bridesmaid Eliza Lopes is a neon pink "wiggly worm." Her other hand is gently held by her grandmother, Camilla.

Next to Eliza is the other star of the wedding, the exquisitely expressive Grace Van Cutsem.

Riding in a carriage back to Buckingham Palace after the ceremony, Eliza looked frightened by the deafening roars of the happy crowds who were teeming in the streets. Prince Harry, who was traveling with the young attendants, saved the day by pulling the one pound (£1) trinket out of his pocket.

It worked like a charm, so much so that when it was time to snap the official portraits lil' Eliza refused to hand the squishy invertebrate over.

Camilla revealed all at a charity event Tuesday, admitting that she was "terribly worried" that her adorable granddaughter would be overwhelmed by the momentous event.

"I was so worried about Eliza. She is such a lovely little thing and looked so gorgeous in her dress but it was a very big occasion for a child her age."

The Duchess of Cornwall was amazed that no one had spotted the worm for so long.

"Did you see the wiggly worm? That was the funniest thing. I can't believe no one has spotted it," she said, later adding "She was holding onto my finger but in her other hand was this worm. I was so proud of her, she looked adorable in her dress and couldn't stop twirling around it. It was such a lovely, lovely day."

Grace Van Cutsem looks like she's a retard. In fact, the whole lot of them look like retards, except the Middleton daughters and they're total boner material. The Middleton mom is a MILF. Cheerio.

I agree with you to some extent. Camilla's grandaughter and the other one Grace, look awful in those pictures. And what in the world was Camilla doing in the picture anyway? She is the one that came between Diana and her ugly husband Prince Charles. She's trash and should not have been included in this picture. And last but not least, I think the media made entirely too much of this wedding in this country. I was frankly sick of it before it ever took place.

Charles was in love with Camilla long before Diana came into the picture. Diana was basically picked out for him because she was about the only pretty virgin with a title. If they had let Charles marry the woman he loved in the first place, there would have been no scandals, etc.

I have to agree about the poor child, Grace Van Cutsem. She is quite...well, "homely" is a nice word, I guess. It's unfortunate, because none of us choose our own appearance, but how did that oh-so-unattractive child wind up in that party of children? The others look at least cute, but she seems to stick out as the proverbial "sore thumb".

I believe you are a better person than the words you typed. Surely you are not so unkind as to judge someone because of a physical difference. Surely you can understand how excited this little girl must have been to be part of this celebration and to have such an important role. She is old enough to know she looks different but she was brave and went out there with a smile on her face for the whole world to see. What a fun and memorable day for her. Bravo Lady Louise.

My question is: What was Prince Harry doing with a toy in his pocket? Was he going to use it for a prank or joke later in the day, perhaps?

I'm guessing that Harry had the worm as a backup toy in case of meltdowns, since he had to travel with many of the little attendants. Probably one of the parents gave it to him to stash as traveling w/toys to distract cranky kids is a well-used parental diversionary tactic!

Look at that picture...why did the photographer not make the little girls stand up right, feet together and behave? Do children, even royal ones, always have to be indulged? Kate and Pippa look like they were raised right! And I love Camilla....she must be a good time to keep Prince Chuck trailing her for sooo long!! Overall though, I don't think much of this "royal wedding photographer's" work!
