Olivia Wilde Opens Up About Life After Divorce

'House' star Olivia Wilde is on the cover of the latest issue of Glamour magazine and talks about her marriage and divorce from her ex-husband Italian prince Tao Ruspoli.

The 'Tron: Legacy' actress, 26, and Ruspoli, 35, were married for eight years before they separated in February. Wilde filed for divorce a month later.

Wilde talks about the reason for her decision to divorce. "It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.... We got engaged at Burning Man and married on a school bus. We were not conventional. I think the promise we always made was that if we are no longer happy, we won't continue. And it got to the point where I was working 10 months of the year outside of L.A. and he was doing incredible things in other places. We were no longer partners in crime."

Wilde reveals that she did have good times with Tao. "The mark of a good marriage is partnership and continuing to feel inspired by your spouse. I had that with Tao. But the end is not necessarily the tragedy."

She continues, "Staying in a relationship that is no longer working is the tragedy. Living unhappily -- that's the tragedy."

The actress talks about the lessons she learned from marrying so young. "Everyone said it to me -- and I had to figure it out for myself -- but you change so much. I've learned it's important to spend time in a relationship with yourself and not being defined by your partner."

Wilde also discusses the possibility of dating again. "I'm opening up my heart to the idea of dating. It's funny-my friends would always come to me for romantic advice, [but] I know nothing, and things have changed since I was dating in high school! I'm really trying hard to spend this time working on myself."

She also wishes she could be more carefree. "I wish I could play the field. But it's so not me. I go 100 percent into everything. And I'm a really good girlfriend."

There have been reports that Wilde and singer/actor Justin Timberlake were seen on a date but sources close to the pair insist they are just good friends, saying neither of them is ready to leap into another serious relationship.

Are you serious? Just because YOU don't know who she is, doesn't mean she isn't relative. What an absolutely undeserved ego you have!
1) if you don't care...why did you post? (I think the most ignorant people are the ones who just want their name on a blog - by saying "Who cares?" You do idiot...or you wouldn't be writing!
2) Olivia is a beautiful woman...you are certainly entitled to your opinion of course...but I hate to see what you consider pretty.
3) everyone in this life is "relevant" you moron..even you! Although you certainly aren't relevant to me!

Marriage isn't easy. That's why so many don't last because people aren't willing to sacrifice anything. And celebs are some of the worst because they don't live in reality. Everything isn't sunshine and roses, most of the time. You have to work at it EVERYDAY.

Olivia Wilde is a star now? I didn't know.

Well, Bryan, I'm glad you're so enthralled by her good looks, but I wasn't talking about what she looks like. I don't like her as an actress. But now that you mention it, a seeing eye dog WOULD look better than her. Thanks for the suggestion.

So don't watch the show Linda! Simple as that. Pick up that little black piece of technology called a "remote" and push one button. There, you see how easy that is?

You're pretty full of yourself to say Olivia isn't pretty..she's a beautiful woman. And a fantastic actress if you hate her character so much lol. Maybe you should hate the producers and writers since they are the ones who portray her the way they do.

So just for the record, what do YOU look like that you get to judge others for their looks? Hmm? Most probably you look like that seeing-eye dog you like to refer to.

What gives, purplehntr, are you her publicist or just a pathetic celebrity stalker? I watch House because I like the series, the storylines and the rest of the characters. Today, Divorce is NO Big Deal. In the 1950's and before, Divorce was a big deal however now days, people change husbands and wives like they change their sox. Nobody cares and most "Stars", don't marry and they are proud to have bastard children. So to get married and then divorce is like turning a page! This is the way of modern world!
