Royal Couple to Visit California This Summer

Prince William and Kate Middleton are headed to America! The newlyweds are planning a visit California in July.

According to UsMagazine.com, the couple, formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, officially announced their trip after rumors started swirling that they were headed to the West Coast.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit California, United States of America, following their Tour of Canada in July this year," Clarence House said in a statement. The royals will visit California July 8-10 following their first official state trip to Canada.

This will be Will's first "official" visit to the States, although he's visited the U.S. before privately. However, this it will be a brand new experience for Kate.

"The Duchess of Cambridge has never before visited the United States of America officially or privately," the statement said.

It's been speculated that the royal couple will visit with fellow Brits David and Victoria Beckham while in California. The Beckhams were invited guests the Royal Wedding last month.

Let them stay in London, they serve no purpose except costing both British and american tax payers money. Maybe they should go get jobs and pay their own way. We already pay the way for a useless house and senate.

Prince William DOES have a job... he's in the Air Force, and earns a regular salary like everyone else. Kate legitimately worked for her parents' retail business, although she had to quit for the wedding. They aren't even going on a honeymoon because William was only given the standard 1-week vacation from his military job. I bet they probably are paying their own way. Besides, the British Royal Family is a net profit generator for the British government... the wedding and other Royal events generate far more economic activity and profit for the UK than they cost in tax dollars. And the Queen technically owns vast amounts of land that she has permanently gifted to the British public, in exchange for a relatively small perpetual maintenance. They are wasting nobody's tax dollars, and as hard as it may be for Americans to understand, the UK is still a monarchy, and the Queen and her family are the official Head of State. Prince William making an official visit to the US is really no different than a lower-level Obama Administration official making an official visit to Europe.

Well Mr.Know it all, what about all the other titled royals that are a waste of British tax payers money, the one's on the civil list? the dukes,ladies,Earls etc that are not in the public eye do nothing for a living yet still get a check each month for being 'Royal' just sitting in the country clubs with their Brandy snifters and racing forms. The royals ARE a drain on the economy and give nothing back, The queen is rich and should not be drawing a salary at all, for doing what? buying stupid ugly hats?

What the hell for? And why California? What's royal or "official" about visiting celebrities? Aren't they suppose to be charitable humanitarians that spread goodwill. They should take their @sses to the gulf and see all the problems BP caused!!
