Rihanna will kick off the 'Today' show's star-studded lineup for its 2011 Summer Concert Series, launching on May 27.NBC decided to overlook the recent 'Good Morning America' tantrum thrown by Rihanna's controversial ex, Chris Brown, enlisting him for his own live performance airing July 15. (Brown's publicist famously quit after his ABC appearance triggered a window-smashing rant backstage.)
Cee Lo Green and 'The Lazy Song' singer Bruno Mars will also hit the stage to perform in the coming weeks.
Everyone's favorite boy-turned-man bands, New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys, will break from their joint NKOTBSB tour to take it back to the '90s. And heading into Labor Day weekend, rocker Lenny Kravitz will close out the summer series on September 2.

(In my opinion) It's no wonder that the state of (some) of today's youth is where it's at. They see all these celebrities getting away with everything they do or how they act without any consequences or repercussions for their actions. There are shows that glorify pregnancy and drunken idiocy... It just appears to them that bad behavior is rewarded or ignored. Young people now days feel invincible because of what they see on TV and how they see these celebrities treated when they do something wrong. They see their "idols" getting away with everything and think that they will able to do the same. It's messed up. The media itself is to blame too, because these stories sell and they know people are interested in they latest gossip and they bleed these stories dry. I know we all make mistakes and nobody's perfect, but the kids of today are never going to grow up until (some of) the people in the public eye begin to.

Chris Brown is a mess. Since being "remorseful" for being a beater, he has trashed a dressing room and released nude photos of himself all over the internet. He is Kayne Jr.
With these two talentless boobs it's obvious that the media won't be happy till he tunes her up on camera.
Won't mind seeing Cee Lo, Bruno Mars or Lenny Kravitz though.
It's been rumored Chis and Rianna spend a night together in New York last week, as with many romatic encounters within the last 3 months.
It was Rianna request, to have his restraining order dropped. They follow each other on twitter so, they may get back together. If they already haven't.
she had better keep her "attitude" in check.

I think that NBC should be ashamed of themselves for booking Chris Brown. It sends the wrong message to everyone..I guess it's OK to be abusive with people and things and still get a pat on the back for and making money.
I think that it is a disgrace and has certainly lowered my opinion of NBC..You saw how Chris Brown Trashed the placed after his Good Morning America appearance..guess it's ok to do that

I agree with you, Phoebe. But you have to remember when you are a "star" people tend to treat you differently, special. Had that been you or me we would have never been invited to any network or anything else for that matter.
Get a grip! who gives an explict about whether your opinion of NBC's decision about Chris Brown, Get over the past and stop waddling in people's imperfections. i bet if some1 digs in your past there will be some ugly stuff too. People are not perfect. Don't watch the network, i am sure NBC will lose sleep
TV will do anything for ratings. I wouldn't watch Chris Brown pick up trash. He's a spoiled raging bully boy with an ego so big its going to explode one day.

Sending mixed messages to our youth??? You mean like the last two songs Rihanna put out about loving being hit and beaten and S&M??? You mean that kind of mixed message? Chris paid his dues, shut up and move on. I think they are both overrated, but I have no idea what she's thinking with her stupid songs.

People need to get over the past. It's obvious that she have forgiven him. That's the problem no forgiveness just want to hold on to hate. Stay miserable and I don't want to watch anybody pick up trash except hateful trash.

Who cares if Chris was booked? Why are people forgetting that he's a singer/performer. That's his damn job. I bet everyone on here who are bashing Chris would be mad if they got fired of called out at their places of work for making mistakes in their personal lives. You guys are idiots. No matter what he did in the past, it shouldn't affect his CAREER. That's just like firing a supervisor because he cheated on his wife. It's not right, but that has nothing to do with his job. Plus his latest album F.A.M.E. sold 513,000 copies in only 4 weeks of it being out in the US and over 700,000 copies woldwide. Looks like he's doing just fine to me.

I praise you.
Yeah, there is that saying that you are supposed to be professional on acting, singing, or whatever job you do. The only problem is most people want to stick their nose in your personal life.
That woman had no right bringing up what Chris Brown did to Rihanna. That was personal and not professional at all.
If you don't like the story, I suggest that you don't click on it, you racist piece of sh--!
