Report: Hugh Grant Considered Replacing Charlie Sheen on 'Two and Half Men'

Romantic comedy go-to guy Hugh Grant was in final negotiations to replace
Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men,' according to
Deadline, which reports Grant was offered $1 million per episode to take over for the troubled star.
Grant, whose last film, 2009's 'Did You Hear About the Morgans?' failed to connect with audiences, allegedly pulled out of the negotiations at the last minute due to creative differences.
The 'Notting Hill' actor currently has no films in the works, so he certainly would have had the time to swoop in and rescue the troubled series. Warner Bros and CBS had said they were pursuing "an A-lister" to step in for Sheen, who was fired from the top-rated sitcom following a very public dust up with show creator Chuck Lorre, CBS and Warner Bros.
Bringing in the British actor to replace Sheen would have certainly marked a major change in the creative direction of the CBS sitcom, which before its shutdown earlier this year was among the highest-rated shows on television.
Lorre, who is also the showrunner for CBS' 'Mike & Molly' and 'The Big Bang Theory,' has considered ending 'Men' entirely, and only wants to move forward with a reboot of the show "if he can find the right actor and get excited about that," sources close to 'Men' tell
Deadline. Also important to Lorre is that Sheen's replacement is "somebody Chuck can work with."
Though he isn't quite the star he was during his 'Bridget Jones' Diary'-'About a Boy' heyday, Grant remains pretty A-list and could have been exactly the turnaround the show needs to move forward post-Sheen.

Very Good choice.

Hugh Grant.... That's the best way to end this stupid show.
It wouldn't last very long. Why not Christian Slater?
His shows get cancelled quickly.

the show was made for charlie sheen therefore one one can replace him

What about Arnold Schwarzenegger? Wouldn't THAT be COOL!?! Hugh Grant has an accent, so why not consider and ask Arnie? I'd watch, because I think Arnie could totally pull it off. What a twist! Just saying.

Well, now that Breaking In has bean booted, Christian Slater is available.

That's the dumbest damn thing I've heard in a long time. Grant is English with a VERY pronounced English accent..so now what? Will Alan and Jake, Rose and 'berta have to learn the accent? That should be fun...why not just take "Charlie" out of the equation? Have him FINALLY realize he needs rehab for a couple seasons, not to be mentioned again..and then just forgeddabout him. This whole situation just gets weirder and weirder. The rest of the case is HILARIOUS and I'll bet dollars to donuts that the show would be even MORE successful without the drunk in it. At least give it a try for a season..if it flops, hire someone to play Charlie.

Perfect choice! Charlie Sheen will not be missed. Hugh Grant will step in without missing a beat.

Bad choice. Altough Hughie does like prostitutes.

Forget Sheen. He is only reading lines somebody else wrote. Anyone can do that.
Best scenerio would be to have Charlie go off with Rose and Herb move in with Alan.
Or a gay housemate for Alan would be equally funny

Wow that would have been one of the worse choices ever for that part. Glad it never happened
