Report: Hugh Grant Considered Replacing Charlie Sheen on 'Two and Half Men'

Romantic comedy go-to guy Hugh Grant was in final negotiations to replace
Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men,' according to
Deadline, which reports Grant was offered $1 million per episode to take over for the troubled star.
Grant, whose last film, 2009's 'Did You Hear About the Morgans?' failed to connect with audiences, allegedly pulled out of the negotiations at the last minute due to creative differences.
The 'Notting Hill' actor currently has no films in the works, so he certainly would have had the time to swoop in and rescue the troubled series. Warner Bros and CBS had said they were pursuing "an A-lister" to step in for Sheen, who was fired from the top-rated sitcom following a very public dust up with show creator Chuck Lorre, CBS and Warner Bros.
Bringing in the British actor to replace Sheen would have certainly marked a major change in the creative direction of the CBS sitcom, which before its shutdown earlier this year was among the highest-rated shows on television.
Lorre, who is also the showrunner for CBS' 'Mike & Molly' and 'The Big Bang Theory,' has considered ending 'Men' entirely, and only wants to move forward with a reboot of the show "if he can find the right actor and get excited about that," sources close to 'Men' tell
Deadline. Also important to Lorre is that Sheen's replacement is "somebody Chuck can work with."
Though he isn't quite the star he was during his 'Bridget Jones' Diary'-'About a Boy' heyday, Grant remains pretty A-list and could have been exactly the turnaround the show needs to move forward post-Sheen.

How about Kiefer Sutherland? Then someone can shoot up the house causing Jon Cryer to leave with the kid. Cloe O'Brien shows up. They talk on their cell phones and find out there is a something happening in this country and la la la you have 24 back on the air.

That would be like taking Elmer out of bugs bunny,CHARLIE IS THE SHOW!

Charlie should run off with Rose. Judith kicks Herb out of the house and moves in with Alan. There you have it.

Sorry, without Sheen there is no show. As a recovering person with over 20 years of sobriety it is tough to watch a talented guy like Sheen spin out of control. I sure wish he'd get his butt in a real rehab and get clean but that being said, the show is nothing without Charlie Sheen.

I hope Hugh Grant will be aproached again. I would love to write the turnaround theme with him in the lead as Charlie's cousin who "drops in" for a visit and decides to stay! What a great foil for the other cast members. The show virtually writes itself with Grant in the lead! Who else could do it? Craig Ferguson!! He is an untapped talent who deserves to be pulled from under the late, late night rocks!

Every time I turn on the TV there some one talking with an accent. Can't these shows find an American to give the job to?

Don't care -, Won't watch the show ever again. I feel for the other members of the cast. Really believe Alan was the key to the show, not Charlie.

Charlie Sheen is the show along with his co-stars. TV and movies are make believe...I don't care what Charlie Sheen does with his personal life (he has to want to change that)as long as he has good work ethics and produces the entertainment he has in the past.

Get Arnold to do it.....He's apparently a womanizer and a horndog...andddddddd...unemployed, so he has all kind of time.

I think Hugh is an excellent choice.

Why not give Charlie another chance? I donot think Grant is funny. His movies/t.v. shows really sucks.I think Charlie is
very funny and his part he played on the show, Is the way he
lived. CBS knew his back ground before hand. I still like the
re-runs. Bring Charlie BACK!!!!
