Sarah Ferguson was purposely left off the Royal Wedding guest list last month and she admitted to Oprah Winfrey that the snub left her feeling pretty lousy.
According to E! Online, the infamous Duchess of York, who was once married to Prince Andrew, told Winfrey that being left out of the big day was "so difficult," adding, "I wanted to be there with my girls...to be getting them dressed and to go as a family."
Her daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, attended the wedding with their father, and caused quite a stir with their interesting wardrobe choices for the big event.
Ferguson understands why she was not welcome at the royal event, but said it still stung to be an outsider.
"I went through the phase of feeling so totally worthless and that [it] was quite right they didn't invite me. Why would they, why would they invite me?" she asked. Ferguson also noted that it was hard because "the last bride up that aisle was me," she said, referring to her 1986 wedding to Prince Andrew.
So while the royal family celebrated at the wedding and receptions, Ferguson decided to go on vacation to get out of London. "I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Camelia...the jungle embraced me," she told Winfrey.
The Duchess also touched on the subject of Will and Harry's mother, Princess Diana, who was certainly missed on that special day.
"I think Diana would be proud of her son," she said. "Both of them, you know? They did a great job."
Winfrey's interview with Ferguson, whose new show 'Finding Sarah' premieres on the OWN network next month, airs Wednesday.
If I were Fergie, I'd be happy to have missed the wedding. At least then I wouldn't have to be seen in public with those two daughers of hers. Erf! Erf! Somebody call the RSPCA! Erf!!
Hey Owen, I thought Sarah's daughters were Cinderella's ugly stepsisters. Then I found out they are royals. And what's with that hat and black eyeliner? Maybe she wanted more attention than the bride. Absolutely scary.
Considering all of the raunchy, crude behavior of that "royal" family through the years, from way-way back when, they have no right to condemn any other person, especially not the mother of Prince Andrew's daughters! Nobody is more sorry for Fergie's bad decisions and mistakes then she is. But no one in this life can undo the past. It seems the royal family must live by the credo "Do as I say, NOT as I do"! I feel bad for Fergie, and wish her all the best and happiness in the world. Living within the royal family sounds torturous to me, even if you ARE a royal, but especially if you are not!
Quite frankly, I wouldn't ever expect to be invited to my ex-husband's nephew's wedding. However, I would certainly expect my kids to be invited...and to go. They are related to him, I'm not. I don't know why she should feel so humiliated, setting aside all her previous shenanigans.
Some of you are quick to spin this woman's reputation around your little fingers. What I have seen of the Royals these past 20 or so years, I can honestly say they aren't better than anyone. And if they set the same standards for themselves, then many of them should have been left off the invites. Didn't this kid go to a party with a swastika on his arm? And Prince Charles, geez, give it a name. Put your sticks and stones back in your arsenal, please. And he/she without sin, cast the first stone. This extreme judgement of women is too Old World order. I wander how long forgiveness would have taken if Hilary Clinton had cheated on Bill?
the truth is that wasn't fergie that cheated it was also Andrew who is well known to be a playboy and it wouldn't surprise me that the queen and prince phillip bulled diana and fergie and not forget that charles did have affair with the silly moo for 30 years while married to diana, Fergie was left out because they the royal family didn't like her
None of us understand how difficult it is to have a watchful eye and people dictating your every move and you can't be yourself or laugh in public.Fergie actions could have possible been from all the anxiety and pressure after her divorce and she made some public inappropriate decisons. What about forgiveness and place her back on track because she has two Princesses and they will include their mom. This is a new generation and Prince William and Kate was living together before marriage and can we say they had separate quarters and no sex before marriage?Fergie should have been invited to the wedding as a guest but not sit with the royal family. If, the Queen can accept Camilla then she can overlooked a much younger royalty mistake as Sarah's.
LONDON (AP) — Less than two months before a fairytale wedding anticipated by much of the world, Britain's royal family finds itself fighting an inconvenient distraction: revelations that Prince Andrew, the queen's second son, is friends with a convicted sex offender, was photographed with a teenage prostitute, and has been accused of ties to Moammar Gadhafi's Libyan regime.
Andrew, Duke of York...A real 'prince' Looks to me like Sarah is being held up to much higher standard Andrew. Who by the way is friends with the convicted sex offender who gave Sarah the money.
Ah yes, royals behaving like royals .... or like the rest of us. Yes, I remember the toe-sucking incident. Selling access to Andrew ... I didn't know anyone was interested in him. They're only human, but I wouldn't invite Fergie to my wedding either. To say the least she behaved in a less than noble way. These royals have had a lot of scandal throughout history. Oh well, not being invited is better than "off with her head"!
The daughters were like the wicked sisters in Cinderella. They were horrible. At one point during the service, the Queen looked back at her granddaughters and gave them a look that only grannys can give...and they stopped giggling and chatting. I think fergy had the right idea. Get to the jungle and lose yourself in it. If i were her, i wouldnt have gone even with the Queens personal invitation.
I don't see what the big deal is about her not getting invited to the wedding. She is Williams' uncles EX wife. The wedding was HIS familys' event, not hers,so why should she be invited and why would she even want to be? I'm just curious as to how much contact she's even had with William since her divorce from his uncle, and it's unlikely she even knew the Middletons,so what's the issue here?

Well, it's her own fault! I would have hated to see her there.

Fergie isn't called the "Yutchess of Dork" for nothing.

Did not listen to whole interview, but I am sorry that the girls (or their mother) chose to dress them so disrespectfully.
