Amber Portwood is no stranger to the courtroom but today she received a harsh verdict -- Portwood lost custody of her baby girl, Leah, according to TMZ.Portwood's baby daddy, Gary Shirley, was ruled the sole custodian of the couple's child, but not because he's a superior parent. Instead, custody was taken from Portwood due to the unsafe environment in which she is living -- her home and car were recently vandalized.
Child Protective Services believed that Portwood's home was an unsuitable living situation for a baby, a fact that Portwood reportedly agreed with. The ruling is reportedly only in effect until further notice.

Really? The little girl loves her mother regardless of her abilities. What needs to be done is the best for the little girl. And frankly the daddy is no better than the mother. I feel for little Leah. She is the one who hurts.
Annie: what's best for the little girl is to NOT live with a mother who is abusive to the girl's father. Amber is unstable and has a temper that is frightening. No one is saying that she's losing all contact but if you watch the father with the little girl, it's clear that his demeanor and temperament are much calmer.

I've been watching since these grls were on 16 and pregnant, all the way thru all the seasons of Teen Mom...Amber tried, she really did. If you see earlier episodes right after Leah was born, you will see that she tried and didn't have a lot of support. I think it was after she gave up on her GED that she started getting more and more depressed. This is a shame, because she was seeing a therapist and on medication....who knows. :( I'm not saying that the way she treated Gary was right, of course it wasn't- no excuse- but I still think if she had more people helping her that this wouldn't have happened. I know that a lot of people can't stand her, but I don't happen to be one of them. I hope that she is able to get her life back on track and get Leah back. JMO.

No there isn't. If there were, half of the babies wouldn't be born to the trash they are born to(not saying this girl is trash, I don't know her) These girls need to get off of the television. It can bring nothing good.
She does not need to ever have custody of this child. The child has already seen more than she needed to see. This is why people hate this show....keep the baby away from her.

Look at that picture. If she were my kid I'd slap that smug little smile off her face and make her clean toilets for a living. She's not good for much else.
Amber should have her tubes tied. She should have no more children. She is a rage-a-holic. On TV and she is hitting the baby's Father, trying to knock him down a flight of stairs and verbally abusing him, with the baby present. Amber has no idea of what it takes to be a mother. She needs help or she should be locked up forever. That girl is going to kill someone!

It is sad when a child is not safe with it's own parent. Ms. Portwood has severe anger issues and should be working on them. I am glad her daughter is in a safe enviroment now.

Why do you folks even watch that crap? I have seen the advertisements for it and have no intention of watching it. I wish they would get some good shows/programing instead of these reality shows. A trashy reality show is just all the more reason to hate
them.
Agreed Colleen. And was her place and car really trashed or was she trying to run up some more publicity and the fake victim role? Guess it backfired on her didn't it. And, Mary, I NEVER wathced the show, but I DID she the video of when she attacked the b/f. It was on the news and viral. hard to miss that.
