Amber Portwood is no stranger to the courtroom but today she received a harsh verdict -- Portwood lost custody of her baby girl, Leah, according to TMZ.Portwood's baby daddy, Gary Shirley, was ruled the sole custodian of the couple's child, but not because he's a superior parent. Instead, custody was taken from Portwood due to the unsafe environment in which she is living -- her home and car were recently vandalized.
Child Protective Services believed that Portwood's home was an unsuitable living situation for a baby, a fact that Portwood reportedly agreed with. The ruling is reportedly only in effect until further notice.

That's terrible that they took the baby away from her just b/c her home adn her car were vandalized. Did they stop to think that it's not the mother's fault ? If they took the baby away from every mother that's had her home and her car vandalized, then they'd be taking 50% of the babies in this country away from their mother or father!....including me and my husb.!

Finally! What took the authorities so long? Anyone who's watched the Teen Mom episode's with Amber can clearly see that she doesn't truly love or care for that baby, and is anything but a decent mother. Amber's one true love is Amber. Let's just wish Gary the best of luck, hope that he stays away from Amber, and gives little Leah the best life possible.

"teen Mom star" Just the title is sad. Being a teen mom shouldn't be glorified. Look at this girl? She lost her baby because she doesn't live in a safe environment, but yet has the money to have her nails done, a fake n bake tan, and get her hair done. It's great drama for a show. but an itty bitty baby needs a responsible adult!!!

Maybe MTV will reward her bad behavior with a new show about being 'Pregnant & 16 Teen Moms Who Lose Custody of their Children'. If it happens, remember, you heard it here first.

Before I had a child, I worked so hard, to make sure I could take care of him properly. Never once, depending on the tax payers to provide for him, or myself.
Now days theres so much birth control, and now so many kids having kids, and cant even begin to know how to take care of them.
I have no sympathy for any teenagers, who allows them self to get in this position.
The kids end up paying for these teenagers bad choices.
I wish all of them would lose custody of their kids, they have no idea what its like to be raised by total idiots.
The kids cant learn anything from ignorant parents, so the cycle repeats its self. And the tax payers keep paying.

not all teens say hey lets have a baby mistakes happen not all babys born to teen moms have kids when they are teens my mother was a teen mom i didn't have my first baby till i was 20 there are some good moms out there that are teens you said all teens should lose thier kids where do you think they go to foster care which tax payers pay for that just as will. nobody knows what these girls lifes are like you see a little bit on tv not everything so learn from thier mistakes some don't don't judge anybody till you walk in thier shoes. if it was one of your kids would you feel the same way .

I really think its the best for the baby. Portwood's behavior has not been good since the beginnig of teen mom. we all know that she is very violent and has mad many nervous breakdowns. Ever since the show started she has been the one with the most problems.All the yelling and the abusive behavior is not good for the baby. Gary have made many mistakes but, he doesn't have to be in an abusive relatonship were the child is seeing everything. This will cause the child problems as she grows older. I honestly thinks its the best. Gary many time told her to change for leah especially her horrible language in front of the bay, but i guess not. Of course Lea needs her mother but then again being near her can really affect her in the long run.
