'Housewife' Alexis Bellino Reveals Eating Disorder
'Real Housewives of Orange County' star Alexis Bellino recently revealed her lifelong struggle with eating disorders, and how she's coping with her issues while raising her family.
"I suffered from both anorexia and bulimia," Bellino told
E! Online. "It's something like alcoholism...Suffering from an eating disorder you can't go, 'I'm cured, I'm completely cured,' but you don't have to practice it."
The Bravo star remembers when her own parents' divorce triggered the disorder at age 12.
"My teacher called my mom and said she was worried I wasn't eating," Bellino said. However, she was 18 when the disorder began to take a scary toll on her health.
"In college I would go days without eating, because it does consume you...I would do both, but mostly purging because I would be out with friends. It's not pretty," she said, adding that her mother helped her seek professional help.
Now, the happily married mother of three is speaking out in order to help those in similar situations.
"It's time to try to help people with something I overcame," she said. "Someone can be 10 years free of it. Your life can go back to normal. I've been through a lot of therapy over the years," adding, "You can come through the other side."

I'm so over Alexis & her plastic surgery from head to waist body. Her & her pimp of a husband need to stay in the media so she will use an eating disorder to keep her in the headlines. She is a fake Christian & I hate that she does mean things then tried to hide behind Jesus. Her slimeball husband is so creepy & overbearing it's scary. He tells her what to wear, what to say & she had a nervous breakdown just attending a dinner party without him.

Oh I totally agree. I used to like ALexis in the first season, for a hot minute. I thought, oh she's pretty, she's Christian, and she's successful and doing it on her own terms in the world of fake southern California. I can't believe how naive I was. She literally will do anything and everything she can for as much attention as possible, and the Christian thing is b.s. her story always changes, she cries crocodile tears. I wish those woman could just BE NORMAL!
I think this woman is a hypocrite. I have watched the show and can see how many times she tries to get out of something by using religion. She lied many times about her husband/keeper on the last show and said "oh lying is so bad" THEN DON"T LIE! Her dresses are terrible, cheap looking, like out of Fredericks of Hollywood.

I would guess Peggy has an eating disorder too. I would guess that Taylor Armstrong from RHOBH has an eating disorder. I would guess that Tamrama is bi-polar. Vicki is OCC and alochol abuse. Jena over eating w/ depression. Danielle Straub has depression, bi-polar, and social disorders. Now, the Alanta HW do not have a problem with eating.

I cannot watch the OC wives anymore, i watched them a few seasons, i literally cannot stand Alexis, Taylor and Tamra, they are so irritating and pathetic, i thought to myself why am i watching this, i like the Beverly Hills gang alot better, some of the BH gang actually act like real people.

She claims to love God and go by the bible, yet she had her breasts and lips done and who knows what else; she lies when it's convenient; she knows her hubby is involved in some illegal business and that's why they won't talk about his "job", and he avoids the camera as much as possible. Yep, typical church lady, sure.

I do not believe that an anorexic would want 20 pounds of silicone put in their chest. It would make them appear "fat" and heavy. I call BS on this story.

I can't stand her! She is the most self-serving, entitled,obnoxious hypocrit ever! Nobody is perfect but own up to your mistakes. I don't think I have every heard her acknowledge any wrond doing on her part. She is a self centered brat who just taylors her religion to justify everything she says and does.
