Report: Mark Ballas and Pia Toscano Split

It was the very definition of a whirlwind romance, and sadly it looks to be over. According to HollywoodLife.com, the 'American Idol' castoff Pia Toscano and her 'Dancing With the Stars' boyfriend Mark Ballas have called it quits.

Toscano is quoted as saying, "You know, he is so busy and I am so busy, we really are just friends! He is a wonderful person, who comes from a wonderful family! I'm really rooting for him..."

The relationship was nothing if not brief. Speculation that the two were dating first came about after Toscano was eliminated from 'American Idol' on April 7 and they were spotted having dinner together in Los Angeles. Fueling the fire more, reports surfaced that Toscano dumped her boyfriend of four years, Calros Nunez, for Ballas.

They really seemed to be a pair made in reality competition show heaven when Ballas was spotted in the audience of 'American Idol' and Toscano performed on 'Dancing With the Stars' while Ballas danced. Check out the video of the performance below.

How can you split when there was never a relationship to begin with? To the idiots calling Mark gay...you obviously don't know what you are talking about. To the poster that said something about all his partners, he only dated one of his former partners. That was Sabrina Bryan.

I never believed they were ever actually dating anyway. I think they were always just good friends who had crushes on each other, but were too busy. I'm glad they did decide to split or whatever because Mark needs to focus on DWTS with Chelsea Kane, I want them to win!! Mark and Chelsea look so cute together and would make a cute couple if she would just dump Stephen Colletti!

She probably got tired of watching Mark feeling up Chelsea. I though Derrick was bad about that but Mark looks like a gropper. He looks like at any moment he's about to go down on her. He's lucky he's a dancer cause a guy that homely would never get a good looker like Pia.
