Was Mariah Carey Reported for Drinking in the Hospital?

All new parents have their hands full, but
Mariah Carey and husband
Nick Cannon also dealt with a very unexpected visitor in the hospital where their daughter and son, Monroe and Moroccan, were born April 30.
"Child Protective Services actually came to me," Cannon told Piers Morgan on CNN Thursday, "And said that they were here to see me because there had been allegations that there was drug and alcohol use during the stay in the hospital."
But it's hardly as scandalous as it sounds: Cannon believes someone involved in Carey's care was overheard discussing a beer that allegedly boosts breastmilk production. Many moms of twins receive lactation tips specific to the challenges of feeding two newborns, but most can probably count on more privacy than Mariah Carey.
"It all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breastfeeding," Cannon added. "I don't know if someone heard that [and] were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story."
Cannon's theory is that a mundane conversation became a wild rumor only because of the new mom's celebrity. According to
Us, he said the rep responding to information about alcohol in the patients' room understood the circumstances and agreed the allegation was ridiculous.
"To even have to deal with that, with my wife in the state that she's in while we're in the hospital, to even have to think about someone possibly wanting to investigate your children," Cannon said. "It's sad at the end of the day...when you think about people trying to make a buck off newborn babies."
Guinness beer tips aside, nursing twins is serious business for some moms, as 'Modern Family' star
Julie Bowen proudly explained during a chat with George Lopez last year. On the other hand, twin mom
Jennifer Lopez caused a
mini-scandal in the parenting blogosphere when she confidently told People magazine she was forgoing breastfeeding altogether.

This kinda crap can really take away from the most special time in parents' lives!...and someone should be held responsible for ruining or tainting the special time. I did exactly that as I have my very own horror story but don't feel the need to share since this post is toward nosey people who ruin a moment so epic. Believe me, staff really should be held accountable and the records kept by hospital should reflect actions taken by parents as well as disciplinary actions...just saying if should've never even happened. By the way, our birthing center allowed as to keep a bottle of Dom in their refrigerator to be opened after our son arrived!

So what if she wanted to drink a beer, it's not against the law to drink, she wasn't pregnant anymore. the hospital i was at even gave us bottles of champagne since it was also father's day. people need to get a grip

WTH! So what! Weren't the babies already born? Even if they wanted to celebrate the birth of their kids with some champagne....OR beer....it isn't illegal. They are over 21. Jeesh I can't believe the length of interference people will go to. In my opinion it was probably a starstruck hospital employee, spying, lurking, evesdropping. If they are found out they should be fired for invasion of privacy. Now go get your own life, you are pathetic.

Who died and made you a judge. What have you been all of your life besides an ignorant wanna be.

No real nurse would ever suggest any type of alcohol because if she is breast feeding it goes through her milk. What B.S. Had children myself never ever felt the need to drink.

Her parents must be so proud to have a black man in the family.

Considering she is part black,it's no big deal...on the other hand, your parents must be so proud to have a lowlife racist for a son.
If this is true that they were investigated then I am shocked because you cannot get the child welfare services to do their job in other situations and now they take this news and act on it? From news they heard from a total stranger???
Unreal~

Hey, everyone has their problems in life but at least she didn't shack up with 20 guys and have kids by every one of them! She waited until she was married to someone she truly loved before having kids! There's so many teenagers having kids like it's some cool thing to do and then realizing AFTERWARDS how much work is involved and the never ending 24/7 attention a baby needs! This is a grown woman who has a great voice and made a lot of money from it. She deserves her privacy with her husband and newborns!

YOU ARE AN IDIOT. No mother in their right mind would do anything to their child. Just because you keep the negative in your heart about her does not make her a bad person. NOR does it make her an addict. Jealousy is a terrible thing, you should get some help on that and not worry about the lives of others.

Your name says alot about you. Another word for traitor is coward, which is what you are to post a statement like this while hiding in your room where no one can see you.

Experience tells us that CPS takes months (If ever) to respond to founded accusations let alone rumors. The CPS rep was just looking to meet a celeb, and shame on her.

You apparently were lacking for attention - did you get what you wanted?

The celebration dinner in my hospital the night I gave birth to my baby included wine...give these new parents a break!

If Mariah is an alcoholic, then a nurse would be very irresponsible in offering her a beer for whatever reason. There are herbal teas that can be used to produce milk. I wish her and her babies the best of health and happiness.
