Gordon Ramsay to Be Sued by Mother-in-Law

Gordon Ramsay's kitchen nightmares continue, as the U.K.'s
Daily Mail reports that his mother-in-law, Greta Hutcheson, is planning to sue him.
It's the latest chapter in the foul-mouthed chef's
familial saga: Last year Ramsay's father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson, who ran the business side of Ramsay's empire, had a bitter falling out with Ramsay and was abruptly fired. Hutcheson accused his son-in-law of 'violent mood swings' and even hinting that he was on drugs -- a claim that Ramsay adamantly denied.
Hutcheson's wife, mother of Ramsay's wife Tana, will allegedly file suit next, claiming breach of contract, unfair dismissal, breach of working times and failure to pay redundancies. Her son and grandson are also suing Ramsay under similar charges.
The 'Hell's Kitchen' star has claimed that on his 44th birthday, Greta Hutcheson sent a letter to her daughter that read: "Tana, you are not welcome anywhere near our door. I cannot believe that you have done this to your father. Until you dispose of that man, you are not welcome back."
Ramsay battled back by publishing an
open letter begging his mother-in-law to see her daughter, claiming that his wife was "in floods of tears." He wrote, "You're punishing your daughter and our four children for all the wrong reasons."
The TV chef married Tana, a school-teacher, in 1996. Three years ago, a tabloid alleged that the famously ill-tempered cook had been conducting a seven-year affair with a mistress in Britain. Photos of Ramsay leaving the alleged other woman's expensive hotel room seemed to verify the report.
In happier news, the Ramsays will be the godparents of
David and
Victoria Beckham's
baby daughter, due this summer. The two couples are longtime friends, and even spent last Christmas together.

I, for one, admire the honesty of Gordon Ramsey on his various shows...honesty is so missing in our society that, unfortunately, too many people mistake it for arrogance. Our "political correct" society has created a society of people who can't "handle the truth" and get offended at even a mere slight. What's happening here is justification why it's unfortunate to employ family members. We think it's for the best of the family while things are going "good"; however, in the long run, our families are worse to work with than strangers. At least with true employees, we can "fire at will."
Good luck, Gordon -- and keep up the efforts to improve the many horrible restaurants in our country -- the "good ole USA!"

Thumbs us CA. Like Ramsey too. In-laws lost their meal ticket and should find work elsewhere not take it out on the daughter and grandchildren.
I also agree with CA that Ramsey is honest and straightforward, if a little abrasive. He doesn't pull punches and it is terrible to think that the in-laws would cut off their daughter, who really has nothing to do with the business side of Ramsey's, and the children. What kind of people are they??? Oh, yes, money grubbing, greedy so and so's, I guess.
Sorry CA, but you need to rack your brain a bit further and find a more savory celebrity to glorify in a rant, quite frankly. Not a big fan of the rather silly notion of godparents anyway, but famous as they are the Beckhams couldn't find anyone else to suitably fill that role besides the erractic and decidedly weird Ramsay and his ineffectual and subservient wife? Like many things in life I suppose they've simply chosen to see what they want to see. Says a lot, nothing positive.

Gordon Ramsay is awesome and people who don't like his style seem to be liberal babies who would rather cry than do anything about it. He says it straight; a quality most Americans should adopt.
Gordon Ramsay, you are the best! Keep doing what you'e doing!
Please, Ramsay is an a**hole and a nutcase to boot.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm sick to death of family members that try to suck money out of their rich, celebrity relatives. These people need to make their own way in life and stop being so jealous of other people. To make a daugther choose between her husband and her parents is appauling to say the least. I hope she chooses her husband. These blood-suckers need to get a life!!!

OH MY GOD you are right, this is like the situation's dad when he said those awful things about him. if im rich i will be pissed if my relatives did that to me, but just sayin everyone is doing that these days and its makin me mad
Would they sue if he didn't have any money?

..His father -in -law.. funded his early career...Ramsey would be unheard of today.were it not for his in-laws...

yes, his father in law was instrumental in his beginnings; however, he has been repaid 10 times over. friend of mine who used to work at one of ramsey's places, said the chef was actually a great guy to work for. having worked in the food industry some time ago, most cooks/chefs/maitre de's seem to be tempermental.
ANSWER; NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you know anything about this man; you'd know that he began his career very early on,
studying in Paris; France for a number of years. He was already established in UK when he married.
Unfortunately, there will always be people who take the easy way out & misuse the legal system to
try to extort money. If he was fired back last year, why not file suit then? Why wait? And to punish your daughter & grandkids????? Sounds to me like Ramsay did the right thing, got rid of a leech
who was a problem. The father in law should take a leaf from GR'S book...go work for a living, & quit filing bogus lawsuits to fund your lifestyle.
Well I think the father in-law would have to sue and not the mother in law.. Ramsay just made a plea to his mother in-law to stop her child like BS...
Myself I see it this way. The mother in-law doesn't like Ramasy so she is trying to split the couple up. Instead of supporting her daughters desire to be with a man she loves, the mother wants to split them apart, and it backfired..

eazy - It seems to me like the mother-in-law is doing exactly what she's condemning her daughter for doing. Standing by her man!
Personally, I have stopped watching ANY SHOW that this foul mouthed, fit throwing adult CHILD is on.... He is hateful and nasty to those that surround him and IF I were a young chef, I would probably wind up knocking him on his fanny after one of his rants!!! IF he has treated his family the way he treats those who appear on shows with him then he deserves their wrath, too. POOR PEOPLE!!!

ive met the man and he acts very nicely to people who deserve it. Hes blunt and will say what is on his mind like all men who care about their art. The most foul mouthed people that wou will find in the world are artists and yes cooking is an art. What he does is not to bring people down, he critiques their work with no sugarcoat and wakes them up to reality.
Wrong Myrna. Ramsays signature is the way he talks and as foul as you may think he is, he happens to be a great chef and has helped many resturants in need. His in-laws have been taken care of for years and should be greatful for what they have gotten, not be pandering for the rest of their lives....
Myrna, perhaps you should ask all the "young chefs" and older chefs he's helped over the years, not to mention the patrons who visit the establishments. I'd say, by some of the conditions I've seen, he's saved many lives over the years. Some of these chefs are too lazy and beat up to run a restaurant. With Ramsay's help, he's help turn around many, many restaurants from failures to successes. Boy, with all your nastiness, I'd say you need to lighten-up. Many people need a good speaking-to in their lives!

Myrna's not very bright. His antics are for RATINGS...you do know what those are, right, Myrna? I've watched him do interviews. Soft-spoken guy. No arrogance.
