Forget Critics, Brad Pitt Just Wants to Impress His Kids

Good scripts aren't the only thing that
Brad Pitt factors into his decision-making process when he chooses his roles. Pitt, who is currently at the Cannes Film Festival premiering his latest flick 'The Tree of Life,' told reporters on Monday that his children are the most important driver in all his choices,
People reports.
"I think of everything I do now that my kids are going to see when they grow up and how are they going to feel," the father of six with longtime girlfriend
Angelina Jolie said. "But they know me as a dad and I hope they'll just think of me as a pretty damn good actor."
'The Tree of Life' should have no problem proving that Pitt is indeed "a pretty damn good actor." His performance in the surrealist film, written and directed by Terrence Malick, is already generating a lot of buzz. The movie follows Jack O'Brien (
Sean Penn), the eldest of three brothers, as he reflects on his life, the personal tragedies he's experienced and his relationship with his overbearing father, played by Pitt. And the heartthrob might have drawn from his own personal experiences for this role.
"I got brought up being told things were God's way, and when things didn't work out it was called God's plan," he revealed. "I've got my issues with it. Don't get me started. I found it very stifling."
'The Tree of Life,' which will get a limited release stateside on May 27, has been shrouded in mystery and speculation since it was announced in 2005 -- due in large part to its reclusive director. Malick was predictably absent from its premiere, but Pitt defended him, saying, "It's an odd thing for an artist to sculpt [something] and then try to sell it."

Rod Stewart said it best, "Don't get married, just find someone you hate and buy them a house"!

Both Brad and Angelina has said several times they will marry when gay and lesbian couples have the same rights they do. This is what they believe in and many agree. Please don't kill the messenger.

That's a bull sh*t excuse they use so people will get off their backs. I don't believe it for a second.
He will have to impress his kids if he can. He certainly does not impress anyone else, any time, any place. What a bum.

Speak for yourself you idiot. That's not what I think of Brad or Angie so if you want to run off at the mouth speak for yourself not everybody else. Futhermore he's not a bum but maybe your are by the way you speak. Brad & Angie are terrific parents,Brads a great actor & Angie is an Awesome actress. There both terrific humanitarians. That is what I think of both of them. Also they don't walk around like they think there better then everyone like most of the movie stars with their attitudes.
Agreed. Take a bath Brad. Jolie and Brad are the skankiest looking couple around. Wash your hair....both of you!!!!!

Oh, please. She has already been married twice and he has also been married. Right now they have no more rights than a gay and lesbian couple. They can get married and still fight for the gay and lesbian marriages.

What the heck does marriage have to do with this article? Alot of other celebrities have stated that they wil get married when gays and lesbians have the right as well. It's not just Brad and Angie. Charlize Theron has stated the same. And it's not a b***s**t excuse either. It's called taking a stand for something you believe in and sticking by it. You all are to preoccupied by others lives. Their children all seem healthy and happy. And if they are happy, then who are we to judge? Get over yourselves. Don't read the post if you don't agree or don't like them.

For the record, I think that gay and lesbian marriages should be allowed. I also know that Brad and Angelina have given SEVERAL reasons why they haven't married and did say, they would in fact, get married if their kids wanted them to. That would kind of negate the whole "we won't get married until everyone can" argument. That's one reason I said it was bull sh*t. No one has questioned them about it again since they said it, and they probably knew that would be the case. If in fact it is their true reason for not marrying, well then good for them, but I'm not sure that's the case. Angelina is a master of her own spin-believe that.
