Source: Charlie Sheen 'Destroyed' by Ashton News
Charlie Sheen wasted no time on Friday to mock the
decision to replace him on 'Two and a Half Men' with
Ashton Kutcher, calling the 'That '70s Show' alum a "sweetheart" but a choice that would bring the show down. Despite his public show of gravitas, a source close to Charlie tells me that privately he's "destroyed" by the casting news.
"He really thought that he would be invited back," a friend of Charlie's tells me. "After years of suffering no consequences for his behavior, why would he think anything else? Finally it has sunk in that he doesn't live by different rules to everyone else. Actions do have a consequences."
Following the news that CBS and Warner Bros. Television was going with Ashton, the young actor released a statement praising Charlie. "I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!"
In return, Charlie said: "Ashton Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer. Oh wait, so am I!!" the actor told
TMZ. "Enjoy the show America, Enjoy seeing 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB. Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there."
My source reveals that the casting has hit him hard and that the lack of other offers has weighed heavily on him.
"He is destroyed that Ashton is replacing him. Destroyed," the friend says. "We are all worried that he hasn't hit bottom yet and that this could make him spiral out of control again. Especially after all the other productions that he assumed would happen have fell apart."
Shortly after Charlie was fired he hinted that he was in talks with FOX and HDNet and that he expected to get paid $1 million for a Vanity Fair interview. None of which has yet to be confirmed.

Right? Either that or donate that money to the poor; that would be "winning"
C.SHEEN HAS ALWAYS GAGGED ME, AND I REFUSED TO WATCH THE SHOW OR EVEN GIVE IT A TRY. NOW THAT HE IS OFF THE SHOW, I LOOK FORWARD TO TUNING IN AND WATCHING THE SHOW. THANK YOU CBS FOR DUMPING SHEEN. THE SHOW SHOULD PROSPER MORE THAN EVER.
Good one, tony! bye bye, Charlie Awshucks!
I love that it's happening this way. People like Charlie Sheen think they are untouchable, and it's about time he realize that he's not. He's not irreplaceable either. This will either save him or kill him, and as narcissistic as he is, I doubt seriously that it will be the latter. He'll pull himself back up because it will be his only real choice. And perhaps be a more decent person as a result. His friends aren't doing him any favors by coddling him through this. He brought this on himself, and not until he faces his own demons and owns his own part in this will he recover. This is a very good lesson for him that most people learn in kindergarten......he's not the center of the universe. It's about time his antics and tantrums aren't rewarded.
So, is "winning" now "whining?" Really, is his ego so huge, he really thought he's irreplacable? (first, take a look at the pix -- he looks like an old has-been). This really brought a smile to my face -- and no other offers -- I thought people were falling all over themselves to offer him jobs. Good enough -- this idiot thought he could get away with anything, and now found out he can't -- better sell that house -- and save your cash Charlie, your career is OVER!
WINNER!
For all the "Sheen Haters," consider that CBS and Lorre knew what they were getting when they hired Sheen! Sheen may be egomaniacal, but I would imagine that the vast majority of famous actors are, they just know better than to make it public because it's "unacceptable" to do so. So does the fact that Charlie has simply been open about it make it any worse or any less sick of a condition? Of course, not!
Seems Chuck Lorre is certainly just as egomaniacal and arrogant, along with being a vindictive, hard-nosed, overly-sensitive boss who deserves at least some (or a lot) of the blame here.
I for one am going to sorely miss Charlie Sheen on 'Men.' He was perfect for the part and helped make the show. If we looked at the personal lives of many successful actors and considered that a criteria for working, many more actors would be out of work!
Charlie may need some mental counseling and help for his addictions, but that is hardly rare or a prerequisite for getting work in Hollywood. He is too good not to be offered a good TV or movie role soon! By all accounts, he was devoted, reliable and professional on the show. CBS and Warner Bro. are making a BIG mistake, both in terms of the show's future success and the ethical, moral and legal transgressions they have made with regards to Sheen.
the new show wont make it

Charlie, it is not too late to read my book. Just search the name "SOS Safely Obtaining Sobriety." It has everything you need to stay sober without rehab, groups or AA. No guilt no shame. Read "SOS Safely Obtaining Sobriety" by George Legacy. You need to cut down on the smoking too Charlie.
tony - you are a fool. And, wish you had a 2,000 square foot abode. Very pitiful.
@elizabeth,wtf idiot dont know sarcasm huh?
at least he can
LOSING.
Oh wait he cant afford an new mansion can he. Idiot, not only put his foor i his mouth, he shot it off.
Charley will be sorely missed! Ashton CAN NOT take his place. He is WEAK at best and really has no business in this role. Chuck Lorre is making a huge mistake! He SHOULD rehire Charly Sheen!
@jill he just bought a 7 million dollar one,now go get some spelling leesons.
how about just buy another line of coke and OD and get out of our lives....
I don;t think the show will go on much further. I cannot stand Sheen, but he was the show. Kutcher is not one of my favorite actors, in fact he is pretty far down the list (very close to the bottom, actually) but I cannot see him in this show. He will try and make a "That 70"s Show" type character, that is all he knows how to do. He riminds me of Kesley Grammer, can only play one character and tries to milk it for a career. Two men is over, had a good run, but I am sorry John Cryer, look elsewhere for employment, soon.
