Source: Charlie Sheen 'Destroyed' by Ashton News
Charlie Sheen wasted no time on Friday to mock the
decision to replace him on 'Two and a Half Men' with
Ashton Kutcher, calling the 'That '70s Show' alum a "sweetheart" but a choice that would bring the show down. Despite his public show of gravitas, a source close to Charlie tells me that privately he's "destroyed" by the casting news.
"He really thought that he would be invited back," a friend of Charlie's tells me. "After years of suffering no consequences for his behavior, why would he think anything else? Finally it has sunk in that he doesn't live by different rules to everyone else. Actions do have a consequences."
Following the news that CBS and Warner Bros. Television was going with Ashton, the young actor released a statement praising Charlie. "I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!"
In return, Charlie said: "Ashton Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer. Oh wait, so am I!!" the actor told
TMZ. "Enjoy the show America, Enjoy seeing 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB. Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there."
My source reveals that the casting has hit him hard and that the lack of other offers has weighed heavily on him.
"He is destroyed that Ashton is replacing him. Destroyed," the friend says. "We are all worried that he hasn't hit bottom yet and that this could make him spiral out of control again. Especially after all the other productions that he assumed would happen have fell apart."
Shortly after Charlie was fired he hinted that he was in talks with FOX and HDNet and that he expected to get paid $1 million for a Vanity Fair interview. None of which has yet to be confirmed.

Ashton is to feminine to play a ladys man like Charlie did (and is) He will be a BIG FLOP No one can replace Charlie in the role!

Who said he is playing a lady's man. He is not replacing Charlie.
people at the studio and producers made alot of money from portraying charlie sheen's real life on two and a half men. charlie has always been a hollywood bad boy and his ex wives and producers knew that going in and took advantage of it. although i like the other actors on the show i won't be watching it when ashton takes over cause he does nothing for me and i dont think he is funny. its time the show ended or the producers grew up and and brought charlie back. and charlie you need to learn when to keep your mouth shut. apologise to one another because you are both at fault and get back to WORK.

I think it is about time that poor little Charlie wake up and smell the roses. He is not winning at anything these days. How is it winning when you destroys everything in your path?

Did you really mean to use the word "gravitas"? In the context of your sentence "Despite his public show of...", "bravado" would make considerably more sense. Gravitas is not a word that often, if ever, applies to Charlie Sheen.

I have often been told he is gay, so playing a character such as Charlie will be a real stretch. Also bringin in Moore is ridiculous. She was finished years and years ago they are a very odd couple. Ashton doesn't have the "character attitude" as does Sheen and the rest of that great cast won't be able to save him. The show will fall and fail. Too bad, it was a riot of a show and I never missed it.

Ashton is going to kill the show it's based on Charlie that's how they should keep it. Ashton is more of a pothead then a women sex fiendeing alcoholic.

Great pick! Charlie, go back to your drinking and your drugs and maybe you will add another 10 years to your face.

I love Ashton and Charlie, but Charlie made his bed, no pun intended. Jon Cryer is not the star, sometimes I have to turn away when he's on. He is really annoying. I hope it works for all! Sorry Charlie!!!!!!

Shouldn't have bought that new house Sheen, not a "winning" decision. Game over Charlie, nobody's hiring you.

Just look at the pictures of Ashton Kutcher and Charlie Sheen above . . . . .vAshton looks fresh and alive. Charlie looks like Ashtons grandpa. An old man trying to look hip with a silly hat.

You're right. In a few months you'll be reading about Charlie Sheen being in the same financial mess that Nicolas Cage is in. But wait, he's "winning". Maybe he can re-coup some of his losses by writing a book. It could be called, "How to Convince youself and everybody else that you're winning when you're really losing".

I've watched "Two and a Half Men" from about Season 2 on. I thought it was VERY well written and had a super-strong supporting cast. (Berta the maid is my favorite, and Holland Taylor plays a good part too as Mommy Dearest.) If you watched some of the last episodes, however, as Charlie was going through his downward spiral, most of the storylines revolved around the supporting cast, and Charlie seemed to be a much less integral part of every show. I'm positive Ashton will breathe new life into the show that Sheen was dragging down with him. The writers are superb, and they will give Ashton good stuff to work with. I, for one, cannot wait for the first episode with Ashton!

I knew if I read long enough I would find another person who thinks like I do. The show will be fine, the writers are brilliant and they will create a new character for Ashton. All will be fine with the rest of the cast and crew.
I do hope Charlie gets some help, it is sad to watch a life so out of control. I am sure there is still a good human inside. He just got to full of himself. Drugs, booze and people all around you who keep telling you how much better you are than the rest of the human race will get ya every time.
He needs to find a good real life Psychiatrist like the one Jane Lynch played on the show.
There is no replacing Charlie Sheen, no matter how good or talented Ashton might be. The show, and the characters, all revolve around Charlies' character and his interaction with the rest of the cast. As much as I wanted Charlie back in the role, and still love watching reruns of "Men", I just can not see how the show can continue without Charlie. I guess, saddly, 2 and 1/2 Men should be cancelled all together unless CBS and Chuck Lorre can put aside their differences for the benefit of all concerned and continue on with the most successful show ever created. Won't be watching Ashton in this replacement role.

I don't buy it, hardly think Charlie is destroyed or really cares for that matter. Feel he truly believes the show will tank and it may or may not but it won't be because of Ashton. The man is a wonderful actor, shows just lose their course once star's leave or you make major changes, it's just the way it is. Either way it's a great show and it's worth a shot to try and salvage it.

I never watch the show, now I'm going to.
