DJ AM's sister, Lara Long, lost a long battle with colon cancer last week, according to TMZ. DJ AM, Adam Goldstein, passed away in August of 2009 due to a drug overdose and older sister, Long, 40, was responsible for setting up the 'DJ AM Memorial Fund.'

"It is with unbearable sadness that I can confirm that Lara Long, the sister to DJ AM passed away late Monday night, May 9th after a fierce four month battle with an extremely rare colon cancer," Jenni Weinman, a rep for the family's estate, told TMZ.

Since her brother's passing, Long was "the driving force" behind keeping the DJ's memory alive. Along with creating his remembrance fund, she also organized his eBay shoe sale as well as record sales.
