DJ AM's sister, Lara Long, lost a long battle with colon cancer last week, according to TMZ. DJ AM, Adam Goldstein, passed away in August of 2009 due to a drug overdose and older sister, Long, 40, was responsible for setting up the 'DJ AM Memorial Fund.'"It is with unbearable sadness that I can confirm that Lara Long, the sister to DJ AM passed away late Monday night, May 9th after a fierce four month battle with an extremely rare colon cancer," Jenni Weinman, a rep for the family's estate, told TMZ.
Since her brother's passing, Long was "the driving force" behind keeping the DJ's memory alive. Along with creating his remembrance fund, she also organized his eBay shoe sale as well as record sales.

So very sad. I can't even imagine what that family is going thru, to loose two siblings at young ages. my thoughts are with them.

She seemed to be a wonderful woman and I am so sorry for how she had to suffer. I liked DJ AM as well - something about his smile made me believe that he too was a nice, well meaning person. Sorry too for the troubles he and his sister must have gone through.

Death from anything is sad but does the writer really feel that a 4 month battle is long? That's an unfortunate short battle.

He said "fierce" battle not long battle.
I don't know who either one of them are, but their family has my prayers and sympathy.

I hope and pray that DJ PM's sister is okay!

My mom always told me that it's a parent's worst nightmare to lose a child. I can't imagine how Goldstein's parents feel right now with two children dead. My thoughts are with their parents.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Goldsteins. To lose one child is unimaginably painful. But two? :*(
