Teresa Giudice Had 'No Idea' Her Sister-in-Law Was Joining 'Housewives' Cast

Anyone expecting less drama on the new Danielle Staub-less season of 'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' needs to think again. The Garden State goddesses are back and this year is going to be uglier than ever, due partly because of casting choices aimed at rattling the stars' cages.

"I was told by Bravo that my sister-in-law and cousin would be joining the cast," Teresa Giudice tells me. "I had no idea until Bravo told me."

Bravo went right ahead and recruited Melissa Gorga, her sister-in-law (she's married to Teresa's only sibling, brother Joe) and Kathy Wakile is Teresa's first cousin. Unfortunately (or fortunately, for ratings), Teresa doesn't get along with either.

"Teresa and her brother were so close before he got married. They spoke everyday and now that's over," a friend of the family tells me. "In fact things are so bad that Teresa refuses to do interviews with Melissa or even be in the same room as her, even to promote the new season."

Joe and Melissa have been married seven years and have three kids. According to her Bravo bio, they live in an "ornate mansion" that she decorated herself.

"It breaks my heart," Teresa said of her family rift as she tours the country promoting her second cookbook, 'Fabulicious! Teresa's Italian Family Cookbook.' In fact things are so bad that insiders warn that things get worse in upcoming episodes and that Terese could even be considering leaving the show for good.

All this and reality cameras! Sounds like a recipe for ~~disaster~~ great ratings to me and Bravo wouldn't want it any other way.

After watching last nights episode; these people need some serious help, very deep issues. This is not appropiate behavier not even for ratings.

Team Teresa here. Teresa's brother Joe and his wife are disgusting, self righteous and down right irritating to listen to. The 'thank you Jesus'" made me want to barf. I might stop watching just because of them.

Team Teresa here too!!!! That Melissa is EVIL, and was obviously so jealous of her husbands relationship with his sister that SHE is the one that poisoned this family, not Joe.....Joe may have some issues, but Melissa and her evil sisters are just plain trash.....

Team Teresa here as well. It is obvious that the wife is the cause of all the friction between brother and sister. I am guessing it was also her that brought the father son issues to a boil. So sad.

I really didn't see anything wrong with Joe not attending the church and staying home with the little one. Nor did I see anything wrong with Gia going to her Gymnastics meet. Joe, Teresa, and all 4 girls were at the reception so why did brother Joe have a hissy fit??? I happen to like Teresa and have seen interviews since the show aired. I think Melissa and Joe are trying to take over the show. It ain't gonna happen!

Absolutely agree with you. How can ANYONE have NO idea? This is your family. I don't care if you don't speak to them, someone does. No one is THAT out of the loop. Give us a break. We are not as dumb as they are.

I found the NJ Housewives show last night very disturbing, and that's NOT entertaining. I was concerned for the father with a heart condition, and for the upset children. I will NOT be a part of this abusive behavior and will NOT be watching the rest of the season.

I too found it disturbing. I felt sad for the Father and that the cameras kept rolling while he was obviously in physical pain was definately a turn off to me. I'm done with RHONJ, capitalizing on this family's obvious turmoil if way over the top.

That Melissa is a piece of work!! It's obvious she is a hatter. You can see the jealousy she has for Thearesa a mile away! She has been whispering in her husbands ears, very minute negative things about Thearesa for years. And, as a husband who also has jealousies towards his brother-in-law, because of the relationship between his father and Joe G. He feels like he has a reason to be angry with them!! But, really Joe, you don't. Everything that your wife was running out of her mouth, was petty. Just Petty! Get it together! You can't fix those issues between your wife and sister! So ignore it!,,

I thought when Danielle was fired, the ugly stuff would be gone. I cant believe Bravo continues to surf the sewers with this trash drama. I am done watching...it was enjoyable to be allowed into Rich Wives lives, the way they spend money, care for their family & husbands..etc...but not any more. If the rest of the Housewives shows get any worse, I will go back to watching "Sex In The City" reruns... By the way, Thank you, Betheney for keeping it real & worthy...Love to you too, Jason & Bryn!!

Trish, You have echoed my thoughts exactly. It is getting less enjoyable by the week to watch the Housewives, but I was wishing Bethenny's season was longer. I stopped watching the Miami and DC Housewives after a couple of episodes, no longer watch Atlanta, and am getting tired of Orange County. Thought New Jersey would be better without Danielle but after last night, it is off my watching schedule. Maybe it's Housewives burnout, but I don't see anything entertaining about watching people behave as they did in the episode last night. Sex & the City reruns or catching up on reading sound much better.
