'Grease' actor Jeff Conaway, whose shambolic life was made painfully public during a 2008 stint on 'Celebrity Rehab,' has slipped into a coma and is in critical condition following a drug overdose last week. The former 'Taxi' star's manager, Phil Brock, says the 60 year old was found unconscious on May 11 after possibly OD'ing on pain pills.Brock would not disclose what hospital Conaway is admitted to, only that it is located in Encino, Calif. The actor's recovery is uncertain.
"He is in a coma and unresponsive at this time," Brock told E! Online. "He turned his head two days ago, but nothing since."

Disease......addiction........what difference does it make when someone out there is hurting. DON'T JUDGE UNTIL YOU HAVE WALKED IN HIS SHOES!!!!!!!!!
Hmmm, He was younger then 60 before he started acting like a teenanger, Get it together!
sorry but I am so sick of these actors and their addiction problems. they have the money to lead wonderful lives. my life gets depressing, because of financial issues, etc. but I never turned to drugs. sorry buts just an excuse

you say you never used drugs? that good anyway that is because you don't have any money to buy drugs.
Almost all the famous and celebrityies have money, that is why they are addiction to drugs because they have money!
Well, that's you. Everyone is different. Doesn't make you an angel. Stop persecuting someone because you think because they have money they bought drugs and ruined their own lives. That's like saying you're in the poor predicament you are in because you did that to yourself!
I have been in recovery for 6 months now and I have to fight the disease of adiction almost every waking and sleeping moment its uneducated people like you who make it harder for us to start functioning in society again wich I am to the best of my abilities, I am just lucky to be one of the strong ones, I am the only one in my treatment center to make it this far. This disease has a 80% fatality rate that I have seen with my own eyes they were not bad people just really sick.
Saying he had a starring role in Grease would be stretching it just a bit!

@sue1mar3: In the original Broadway musical, he DID have a starring role, he played Danny if I recall right, the role Travolta played in the film. And his role in the film wasn't the main star, but I'd still call a major supporting role, thus a "starring" one as well.
ya, I would say it was one of the leading roles...he could of played Danny and done it just as good.....he is still a wonderful actor but noone will deal with or trust him for a major role if he is an addict..
for those of you you don't know, he was the star when Grease played Broadway. When the movie was made, Travolta was a hot property so they gave the starring role to him. Conway never recovered from that slight.
Thanks everyone for the info. I did not know that.
geez.....sorry he was not THE star in the movie. but, he did have a starring role.
picky, picky, picky!!!
@sue1mar3 Oh, Sue, stop! Don't hate! I know you are probably a Hollywood Loser--one of many! Leave him alone.
I would say he had a starring role... for sure. He was John Travolta's best friend and the 2nd most visible member of T-Birds.
I dunno I guess my opinion is based on the belief that Olivia Newton John and Travolta weren't the only starring roles just cause they had the leads.
I'm not going to sit here and point fingers, critisize him, or say anything negative. All that I wish is for him is to wake up and be able to beat the demons that have been haunting him for so long. Life is worth living, Jeff....it's a gift. My heart breaks for those who, for whatever reasons, simply cannot beat these addictions. If only they never tried it (drugs/alcohol) in the first place............get well, Jeff. Fight.

you are a breath of fresh air,its sad all these bible thumping hypocites on here posting love to kick people when they are down.really sad.
That I know of, this is the 2nd person from Dr. Drew's rehab in serious trouble; the other one died just recently from an overdose. Jeff's whole story is sad because you just knew that when rehab was over Jeff was not going to make it; he fought too hard to hang on to the pills and booze, so unfortunately I have been waiting for this announcement. God watch over him.
after his back injuries, he then really turned to pain meds. I saw a interview with him a year or so ago. he was in very back physical shape. I dont know how he even lived this long. even if he recovers, he is living on pain meds. not a nice way to live. maybe he was looking for a way out of this life.
bless him
@ tabbeighcat: very well said..finally, someone with something positive to say about a sad situation...jeff is in the news, so he's out there for everyone to pick apart with their negative remarks..its easy to say what he should or shouldn't do or what you would or wouldn't do in the same situation..but the bottom line is we're all human (i guess) and no one is flawless..and i'd be willing to bet that everyone has problems or issues..the only difference is he's well known & it's out there for every one to see..but NO ONE is so high up that they can talk down to or about other human beings
Pisses me off...this man was on celebrity rehab not once, but twice and after viewing I think he did it for the money, not the help. He also had a girlfriend on the show. "Hmmm" wrote it well, a 60 year old acting like a teenager. Pathetic...just pathetic. This is my opinion with this one actor. He will never be clean.
