Former 'Housewife' Danielle Staub Seeking Help for Psychological Problems

Former 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star
Danielle Staub has admitted she was sexually abused as a child and is now seeking treatment for her psychological problems.
Staub told
PEOPLE that it was childhood sexual abuse that caused her to have issues with low self-esteem. She is quoted saying, "I have addictions with love and low self-esteem, and I need help!"
The 48-year-old-reality-star continues, "My low self-esteem derived from childhood sexual abuse has messed with my mind and self-worth, and over the years I thought about getting help but pushed it deep into the depths of denial. For years I have had the suicide hotline on my cell phone and would like nothing more than to free myself from this constant pressure."
Staub admits that seeing how she hurt herself and her family was when she knew she could not overlook her problems or keep delaying treatment.
She has reportedly sought help from Dr. Drew Pinsky (of 'Celebrity Rehab' fame).
Staub recently
signed a three-year contract with Scores Gentleman's Club in New York and according to the club's adult website, she had agreed to do one live appearance and occasionally appear on ScoresLive.com.
The reality star says that she was "coaxed" into signing her contract with Scores by her former business handlers but she has since walked away from the deal.
However Staub does admit, "I have to own my mistakes and can't blame others."
Staub was recently spotted filming a "food-related"
series for VH1 with
Heidi Montag and Jake Pavelka of 'The Bachelor.'

This woman is far from being pretty. I don't see why people think she is so sexy or beautiful.

Does she know Vienna Giradi by an chance. Vienna can give her some pointers on how to keep her 15 mins of fame going forever. Go away already. I feel sorry for Danielle's two girls. What are they learning?

She is the PERFECT example of somebody that should be a Meth addict so that she would then have a good excuse for being the train wreck that she is.............

A job with SCORES... really? You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

FAIL!! She's seeking help, but from Dr. Drew?? Nope, that's just another way for her to stay on TV. If she REALLY wanted help she'd do it privately.

What does "pretty" have to do with this article??

It's obvious that this woman has a lot of problems. I hope that she is being sincere in accepting responsibility for her mistakes and wanting to get help and improve her life. She has two beautiful children who need for their mother to be healthy. I am not her biggest fan but I do wish her well. And for those of you who can only focus on her looks, grow up!!

There sure are a lot of mean hateful people in the world - and many of them are on here!
When you find yourself the "victim", just remember you couldn't give any slack to someone else so it came around for you!

For someone everyone hates, everyone here sure is paying attention. Stop reading her news you hypocrites.

So, why would ANYONE have the NEED to go to People and her most private stories? OH RIGHT! Media attention! Gonk! DUH!

I am so sick and tired of so many people using the " I was abused as a child" excuse. It's used more frequently than the "race card" It's almost as if, everyone that has missed a mortgage payment, wrecked a car, robbed a bank, beat their girlfriend, cheated on their spouse, murdered their children, had a miscarriage, fell on the runway or won't take out the garbage claims they were abused as a child. I'm sure there are a number of people that were ligitimately abused as children and my heart goes out to those individuals. But, it is over used and has taken on a different scenario than 40 years ago. I had a room mate in my 20's that was beat to a pulp by his father. I consider that abuse. Now days, if the parents say "NO" to a child, some consider it abuse. Thats B.S. In my opinion, when someone tells me they were abused as a child I have to ask, because there are many degrees of abuse. From a parent saying "NO" to a possible beating.

WHINE...she was sexually abused and looking for help from a celebrity doctor who just happens to have a tv show, yet she signs a three year contract with a "gentlemen's club" and will do live appearances. Yeah, uh huh. The only thing wrong with this woman is that she's crazy.

Wow, so now it's sexual abuse. This is a woman who has forgotten that everything she does reflects back on her daughters. Those two poor girls have to now read their Mother is a mental case, and was sexually abused. They have to hear from their friends all the ugly details of their Mother's unacceptable behavior. Awful for them. Just get a job somewhere, Danielle, think of your girls, and shut the hell up. By the way, where is those girls father? He needs to step up for his daughter's sake.
