Look Ma! Reagan Daughter Patti Davis Poses Nude (Again) at 58

Patti Davis, the rebel daughter of President Ronald Reagan who posed for Playboy magazine in 1994 when she was 42, is once again posing nude but this time it's for More magazine. The 58-yea-old writer wants to celebrate having a body that she is finally proud of.

The controversial Davis who was often at odds with her politically conservative parents says that she became addicted to drugs at the age of 15 and didn't get clean until she was in her late twenties. She told More that her "body was wasted, muscles thin and barely visible." In a Daily Beast interview Davis said, "I am proof that it's not that easy to die, because I'm telling you I was working on it."

Davis has had a turbulent life. She flirted with acting appearing in episodes of 'Fantasy Island' and 'The Love Boat,' had a relationship with Bernie Leadon from the Eagles and a four-year marriage to her yoga instructor.

During her father's presidency Davis (who went by her mother's maiden name) supported abortion and gay rights and vocally opposed nuclear weapons.

But when she walked into Gold's Gym in Venice, California at the age of 34 she was struck by a nude portrait of bodybuilder Lisa Lyon and decided then and there to emulate her impressive physique and also one day to pose nude.

Although the results are impressive, Davis says she's not happy with one particular body feature - her elbows. "I'm quite upset with my elbows. If you took a close-up photo of them, you'd think, 'Wow, very old person.'"

"I risked everything in my teens and twenties. I risked my health and even my life. I got both back through determination and hard work. I've now learned to respect time as the precious commodity that it is, and I've learned to respect my body."

For many years Davis did not speak to her parents but the rift was healed when her father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and now she has lunch with her mother every Sunday. However, the family is still fractured as she does not talk to either brother, Ron or Michael.

And she's still as outspoken as ever, in a Daily Beast interview she criticized Sarah Palin.

"As far as Sarah Palin is concerned, I think he (speaking of her dad) would be completely baffled at her fondness for shooting animals."

She adds: "I think people ultimately reveal themselves to everybody. I think that's the case with Sarah Palin's conduct, particularly after the Tucson shooting, I think she's sort of digging herself into a hole. I hope -- I really hope."

What does age have to do with how she looks? I've seen twenty something year olds with flubber hanging out of their muffin tops that make me want to gag. So dont knock older people. Most guys would rather do a fit 60 year old than a fat blubbery 20 yr old anyday.

Oh, good. Someone who has nothing esle to worry about, obsesses about her elbows! HOOKED on drugs from the age of 15?! Until when 16, ...or 37 when she walked into the gym? Why doesn't she have any muscles? She should be somewhat muscular if she's thin from working out. I don't understand why she would feel the need to pose nude. But the decision proves that brain damage from drugs is lifelong.
