Sarah Palin's Son Track Gets Married

Talk about underneath the radar! Former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin announced in a statement that her oldest son, Track, married high school sweetheart, Britta Hanson, in a small ceremony in Alaska recently, PEOPLE reports. For pics of the wedding, go to PEOPLE.

"Our families couldn't be happier!" Sarah and Todd Palin and the Rev. Duane and Elizabeth Hanson told PEOPLE in a joint statement. "These are two hard working, humble, active, studious young adults who grew up together. We're tickled that after two decades of friendship we proudly witnessed their marriage, knowing their new life together will be blessed."

The couple, which has been dating since high school, plans to have a bigger celebration this winter at Alyeska Ski Resort so "extended family and friends from the Lower 48 can travel north for a long ski weekend," the statement continued.

Palin, 22, is an Army Reservist who spent a year deployed in Iraq and Hanson, 21, is a nursing student at the University of Alaska.

"The Hanson and Palin families are ecstatic and proud that Britta and Track married in one of our favorite spots in America, spectacular Hatcher Pass, Alaska," the statement added.

Track was born during the track season at school. The Palin family has been rooted in athletics for quite some time, so it their agreement to name their first born child in concordance with what sports season it was.

You may think it's wacky. But at least it holds sentimental value to her.

Track went military only to keep from going to jail for cutting brake lines on school buses - he got off easy and does not deserve to be called a soldier

I have seen this ignorant reply twice on this board. The military (including the Army which Track joined)expressly forbids the jail or military option. Try actual finding fact instead of spewing political talking points.

Melle; have you ever thought that the law has changed since Track was granted that option?? If my son did what he did jail would be his only option - He had the right parent and the right color ; plain and simple

Congratulations to Track Palin and his new wife. Track seems to be one of the only ones who has kept himself fairly out of the public eye (albeit partly because he was serving over in Iraq.)

But since this has nothing to do with politics, I wish the new bride and groom of a lifetime of love, happiness, and understanding.

Btw, It is Army Regulation 601-210 that covers this. ""Applicant who, as a condition for any civil conviction or adverse disposition or any other reason through a civil or criminal court, is ordered or subjected to a sentence that implies or imposes enlistment into the Armed Forces of the United States is not eligible for enlistment.."

Some of these idiots have nothing better to do than continue to trash the Palin Family. Boy, are they in for a rude awakening when they wake up the Nov. 7, 2012 - and Sarah Palin is our 45th POTUS! They'll be shocked, 'cause they missed how much she really knows, reads & understands! But maybe, if they FINALLY make good on their promise to leave the country - first, if/when Bush 43 was elected (twice!) and then, when Palin is elected - then we can fumigate the country of the libtards' odor...
