Russell Brand Deported from Japan for Criminal Past
Katy Perry was up in arms on
Twitter earlier today, after officials in Japan deported her husband, British comedian
Russell Brand, right out of the country.
"My husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place." She added the hashtag
#tokyodreamcrushed.
So why was the 35-year-old funnyman booted from the Land of the Rising Sun? Apparently old arrests on Brand's record are to blame.
Perry got pretty hashtag-happy (
#mamanothappy!...
#don'tmessw/mahman!) on her followup
tweet, venting: "It was for priors from over 10 years ago!"
She soon calmed down and focused on why she was in Japan -- to perform.
"But of COURSE I ♥ my Japanese fans & the show MUST GO ON no matter the daily aftershocks or husband kidnappings!" she
tweeted. Perry is in the earthquake-ravaged nation for a series of concerts in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka.
The 'Teenage Dream' singer even referenced this week's much-maligned evangelical claim that the 'End of Days' was at hand, joking away Brand's swift departure from Japan with the
tweet: "Totes raptured!"
Brand has spoken about the drug-addled lifestyle he kicked before marrying Perry, and he was indeed
arrested in California last year, for scuffling with paparazzi as the couple made their way through airport security at LAX. This weekend, the 'Arthur' star joked about his abrupt deportation, posting a
tweet and photo while being processed in detention: "Planning escape from Japanese custody. It's bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick."

For any normal person, prior arrests stay with them for the rest of their life. It doesn't matter if their record is 10 years old or 10 days old. I agree, deportation is quite harsh, but it's their country, they can decide to deport you if they wish, especially if it's based on a criminal record. Quit whining and just deal with it like normal people have to. Besides, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. I have no sympathy for you.

Japan Did the same thing to Paris Hilton when she showed up..
I used to have problems with the paparazi. They are always looking for dirt. I never had to get rough with them. They gave up after they realized I was on my way to church....Alfred-
I have no sympathy for him, either. I simply can NOT stand the guy.
Sorry, Katy.... your hubby is gross.
Scratching head as to why you would marry someone so repulsive.
Hip hip hooRAY for Japan for taking the moral high ground!
Interesting though. Russell is NOT a US citizen. Perry is trying to get Dual Citizenship so she can spend more time with him. If US grants him citizenship would explain how these bastard terrorists easily get here and continue attempting to blow us up again. If he ever attains citizenship would lose more faith in our government. We already have our own violent, drug addled, jack arses to deal with.
Give Russell Brand credit for being clean and sober now. I wrote the newest book on how to get sober in a modern world. It flies in the face of old-fashioned programs which perpetuate low self-esteem. Search for the title, "SOS Safely Obtaining Sobriety." Escape addiction or learn to avoid trouble later on. Nobody wants to be banned from anywhere, especially if we get another shot at "the rapture." Ha! Read "SOS Safely Obtaining Sobriety" by George Legacy.
Katy needs to find a better man. I wouldn't go out with a former drug addict. He probably kicked his habit for her. Just wait till Russell get bored and then boom! Honestly, I don't know Russell. All of the sudden, he started to pop up in the movies out of nowhere. Who is he ...
Good for Japan! We need to stop pampering to celebs and their crimes, current or past, if only US would get serious and throw a couple in jail for their DUI's and abuse charges.

This is why Japan is one of the safest countries to ever live in. Also, they are not whiny people so maybe American stars need to read up on their culture and ways before entering their country, her whining only makes her look bad. They just lost an entire town, they have radiation and power problems and many earthquakes still yet and Katy looks so ignorant just whining over something senseless all because she wants her hubby to be by her side. She needs to grow up, Japan did the right thing.
They really deported him because he refused to wash his face. She's lucky she wasn't deported for impersonating a singer.

Oh well, Russell and Katy get over it.

Wonder if they would have deported the Tally-whacker-shaking IMF chief, seeing how Japan is in dire straits financially now?

Maybe they should've checked the country's rules or had one of there handlers check the rules before they made the long trip. Would've saved lots of time for them!

Russell Brand is gross and he has no talent. He is just disgusting. Deport him anytime you get the chance.

No No we don't want him, keep him over there.
He's hilarious! I love to watch him on the View or SNL. Granted he goes overboard, but he makes me laugh more often than not. I wish him and Katy all the best.
If he created those crimes in Japan they definitely had the right to deport him. Japan treats everyone the same even with their own big stars. This one japanese band I like Morning Musume had one member that was caught smoking before the legal age which is 20 and she was about 18 and they took everything from her, her contracted was terminated and everything she was promoting was taken down. I think they need to start having that kind of disipline in this country.

Yeah, a Fourth Reich is long overdue.
The celebs think being edgy & breaking the rules gives them street cred. That may work in the U.S., but other countries take a dim view of these pampered idiots and their outrageous antics.
BOOOO to any country that would "take everything" from someone for smoking cigarettes.....BOOO to this guy for what he would have for our country...SMARTEN UP
