Lady Gaga said today on 'The View' that she was bullied at school as a kid, even though she had a "nice group of friends." It was an experience that has stuck with her as an adult, influenced her decisions and her self-esteem, and even had an effect on how she communicated with her fans."I don't think I realized how deeply it affected me until I started to become more successful," said Gaga. "And suddenly there's lots of pressure and I had to be a role model and look inside myself and say, well, what do I have to offer?"
Gaga said she felt like she didn't have much to offer for a long time, and she recognizes that some of her fans are having similar struggles. In the music, she said, both Gaga and her fans "find liberation from our challenges and our identity struggles." In her previous identity, Gaga would not have been able to wear 10-inch platform shoes. Now the only problem is not falling.

I am 57 and I love Lady Gaga. I even have 4 songs as ringtones.
She may me outrageous to some but I love her different styles.
She has earned respect after all the years of bullying. She is trying to portray a message that you can be different and people should accept you the way you are. Born This Way is a perfect example of this.
LOVE HER!!!

She cannot sing
She cannot create her own material
She is not respect worthy
She is ugly
uh huh
All of the above true? ...Yes
She cannot sing: yes, she can. Ever been to a concert? I'm sure not. Just judging for the sake of it. Sure, a lot of her stuff is synthesized, because that's club music these days. But when she's unplugged, she's a powerhouse.
She cannot create her own material: yes, she can. She writes almost all of her own music.
She is not respect worthy: says who? you? and by whose definition? She is respectful to everyone, donates time and money to charities, and fights for tolerance and acceptance. She's earned mine. You have not. What have you done lately?
She's ugly: No, she's not. Look her up without costumes, etc. She's very pretty. But she is a performance artist and that's part of what makes her special. And her shows are a blast because of it.
Is all this true?: Yes, yes it is. DUDE.
Ur only 6 yr's out of HS Gaga. More time will make those bad days fade from ur memory. Take solice that those losers/bullies will never be able to take the remaining 80 yr's of heaven u have ahead. U R A GODESS!!!!

This doesn't surprise me. Creative people (artists/musicians) tend to be outcasts in high school. I'm 28 now and I've discovered in recent years that bullying in middle and high school has definitely affected my personality and stage fright. It's mentally healthy to confront those feelings and make beautiful music instead of letting some idiots ruin me. Props to Gaga for showing high school losers who's boss!
Also, another thing I noticed is that the "cool" kids are typically stupid and/or talentless with zero personality, so ultimately there's nothing wrong with being a "loser". :-)

I like her very much. She is proof that "it gets better" to every child/teen being bullied. She just knocked Oprah out of first place on Forbes. As for those who bullied her in high school? As they say, he who laughs last, laughs best. I think high school should be outlawed. Go GAGA! She's a very talented person. She showed she has a great sense of humor on SNL too.

Read the second paragraph. Role model? Are you kidding me. She is different and entertaining, but a role model. I think she thinks too much of herself.
