Judge Orders 'RHNYC' Star Sonja Morgan to Shell Out $7 Million
It sounds like 'Real Housewives of New York City' star, Sonja Morgan's shoe fund just got the boot. Morgan has been ordered to pay $7 million after a failed movie venture. According to the
Hollywood Reporter, the United States Court of Appeals has upheld the $7 million judgment against the 'Real Housewives of New York City' star.
The ruling alleges Morgan is liable for fraudulent conduct because a potential
John Travolta film, 'Fast Flash to Bang Time,' was never made. Morgan was ordered to pay Richard Rionda del Castro and his company, Hannibal Pictures, $7 million.
"With the confirmation by one of the highest Courts of our country, the masks are falling and there is no longer any doubt that we were defrauded and severely damaged," Rionda del Castro said in a statement. "We are now going to collect to the fullest extent of the law."
In November, Morgan filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. In her petition, the reality star listed $19.8 million in debt with $13.5 million in assets. Morgan, who is behind Sonja Productions, entered an agreement to work with Hannibal Pictures on the 'Fast Flash' film, but the deal went sour when, according to Morgan, Travolta started making demands the the two companies could not meet.
After the film deal fell apart, Hannibal Pictures took Morgan to court and won the $7 million judgment.
"I had a movie deal go south and I have a $7 million-plus judgment against me,"
she told AOL TV in April. "I have an appeal and we're going to see how that works out. But I don't have $19 million in debt. Everybody is like, 'Oh, she spent money that she didn't have.' That hurts my feelings because I'm not like that. I'm very frugal. I pay my credit card bills every month."
Now she's being ordered to pay up.

Morgan is the snottiest, nastiest housewife, right up there with Staub. She's a bully and she acts like a 2 year old with money. I hope she gets to see how real people live and gets to struggle. BTW, she needs a nose job badly. When the tip of your nose, covers the top of your lip, its time to "down size".

Guess now she won't be able to afford any underwear and her butt will hang out all the time, not just at her lame parties. Maybe Ramona can give Sonya some Pinot Grigio wine to ease her troubles.

This season she has been horrible. Flashing her butt all over. UGGGG. How can these people be on these shows--where the are "supposed " to be rich and everyone is really broke and not who they really are. Andy, you really need to do financials on these people. Them being on the show is the only thing bailing them out....
