Kirstie Alley Bringing First 'DWTS' Outfit Back, Minus 38 Inches

The incredibly shrinking Kirstie Alley will step into an altered version of her opening-episode dress on the 'Dancing With the Stars' finale Tuesday. How altered? The costume had to be taken in 38 inches since the last time she wore it to Cha-Cha-Cha to Cee Lo's 'Forget You.'

On Monday's episode, the fan favorite flaunted her new figure in a skin-tight catsuit that showed off the enormity of her weight loss. But just how much she's shed is still a mystery.

"There will be some reveal of that at some point, but I really didn't care," she told the AP. "As long as I kept changing and changing and changing, I really didn't care. It was like, keep whittling, whittling, whittling. And the other thing that's really more significant to me - I mean, I love the whittling, I like being skinny - I'm really strong and really agile and it gave me a new life."

In early March Alley told Us Weekly that she had lost 60 pounds on her current diet and wanted to shed another 30 or 40 on 'DWTS.'

Even while losing so much weight, she has still been the butt of fat jibes from comedians, most notably George Lopez and Chelsea Handler.

But she's having the last laugh and is a clear favorite to win the mirror ball trophy over actress Chelsea Kane and footballer Hines Ward. All her weight-losing has kept the show's designer busy.

"We are constantly taking in and altering Kirstie's costumes," said Randall Christensen. "Isn't she looking incredible?!"

She's also apparently wearing out her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who tells AOL TV that this season has left him "drained."

"I don't know," he shared. "It takes a lot out of you. When you invest that much of you into something that's supposed to be just work you [can] get misinterpreted. I don't know [if I'm coming back]. We'll see. Right now, I'm drained."

I think Kirstie looks amazing congradulations!!!Nobody gave Marie Osmond all this neg attitude while she lost all that weight and them claimed nutra system did it for her.At least Kirstie is honest saying both her weight loss and dancing were the cause of her weight loss!!!Again Congradulations on Your weight loss and who careswhat anyonelse says as long as your happy with yourself thats all that should matter.And to all you haters shut the hell up!!

I have always thought Marie O had a nip and tuck on the body as well as lipo and just claimed she lost weight. I do like her tho -I wish her and her new (first) husband a lot of luck. I think she is basically a good person. HUGE (no pun) props to Kirstie. I hope she does get the last laugh and gives the big dedo to George L. Haha...

How do you figure 38 inches? It had to be taken it 1/2 inch in 76 places.

She's still bovine.

If she had really lost 38 inches, she would have gone from looking like Roseanne (or Kirstie Alley) to looking like and Olsen twin.

She doesn't look skinny to me.

If she would like to look even thinner and younger, she really should consider returning to being a brunette. Blonde doesn't work for her and she is breath-taking as a brunette.

"the enormity of her weight loss"? I don't think it's horrible at all, I think it's great. Please, if you say you are a writer, then do what good writers do, use a dictionary!

Are you sure you know what enormity means? There's different definitions and it is correct when used in this context. Enormity is referring to the great amount of weight loss Kirstie has achieved. Perhaps you should go back and consult a dictionary.

Congratulations!!!! Kristie! You know it is hard work to lose weight. Moving, and weights are the only thing that works. Burn more than you take in. Those prepackage meals are a scam to make you think you will lose weight. You need to learn to do portion control yourself. You can lose weight but at our age if you do not work out with weights you have no muscle tone. You keep it up Kristie you are awesome.
