Kirstie Alley Goes Aerial With Freestyle Stunts on 'Dancing with the Stars' (Video)

When it came to their freestyle dance, Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy decided to surprise everyone in this final performance episode of 'Dancing with the Stars'.

In a routine filled with a surprising number of lifts, Alley proved lighter on her feet than we could have ever imagined.

Sure, they weren't all perfectly executed, but the judges applauded her effort and confidence in tackling them.

"That dance sort of embodies what I think you have become, which is the new poster child for life as it should be lived at 60 years old," Carrie Ann Inaba told a clearly worn out, but euphoric Alley.

In the end, the pair scored 9s across the board for both of their dances, putting them definitively in third place with 54 points. Both other couples scored 59 points, putting it squarely in the public's hands to declare a winner.

Don't count out Kirstie Alley either, as she's had tremendous fan support throughout this season. Maybe they'll be as impressed as the judges by the spirit she showed tonight and rally her for the victory.

She's 60 years old. And for 60 years old, she looks, acts and dances DAMN good!!! For 60 years old, she's in really GOOD shape and has immense flexibility, even if she's a few pounds over what the American (anorexic) standard considers 'normal'. Her face, for 60, is nothing short of fabulous too! Those who criticize her will surely eat their words when they turn 60.

She has never changed in my eyes. I have and I will always support Kerstie. I'm real happy she has performed the way she has. This will only mean one thing...I/we will be able to watch more of her on TV. She's a real talented person and we should all enjoy seeing more of you. Kerstie keep up the hard work my vote for you.

I don't understand those who must bash and knock down others..schoolyard bullies as children perhaps.. I admire Kirstie and give her alot of credit. She's living her life on her own terms and hasn't given up regardless of what haters think or say about her; you wouldn't catch me dancing on national tv in tights! I love her spirit and her soul, I hope I have her "to hell with it" mindset when I'm 60. Bravo!

To all of those who bash her, pity on you for being so pathetic, self rightous and shallow. National tv, extreme critics, and haters have not stopped her yet. Although she is not my favorite dancer, I do admire her for her courage and for her dancing. She has really improved in my eyes. Maksim is an excellent dance instructor. Bravo.

Must suck to be so negative all the time. Don't think I have ever seen you or themeeker ever post a kind word. I would hate to have your attitudes. One can only hope when you are 60 you are shuffling around with your walker and your pot bellies just wishing you had the energy Kristie does now.

Max is strong as an ox and she did awesome, i like Kirstie, she's a little nutty but she has done well, i would love to see her win instead of the skinny minny teenager!

Have always loved you Kirstie!! You kept going when others may have quit. You have given inspiration to the average woman out here who is not a size 6!! You are beautiful no matter what size. Your spirit is something for the rest of us "ordinary" women who are told everyday that our size 14 or 16's are plus sizes, to achieve to, and that is your spirit and love of life. Love you. Keep up the good work. You are beautiful and loved by many! DO IT FOR US!!
